I want to start off by sharing that I really liked this daycare when my son first started. I have been a supervisor at a daycare myself so I tried to be very understanding. Kids have hard days, staff have hard days as well. I think the biggest issue here is the lack of communication and the inconsistency. There were a couple of teachers who were great and there were others who were not. When you communicate something to a teacher and their response is “I’m not his teacher anymore” instead of “oh yes I’ll make sure to relay that to his teacher”, it makes you question leaving your child with this person. Especially when they carry a poor attitude every single time you encounter them. By no means is my child an angel, he has struggled since our move. But when there isn’t consistency with pre-school, and teachers, it becomes a lot for a 3 year old who already is having a hard time adjusting. I give them credit for trying to work with us through the transition Heather was great. But when you have a child who has behavioral issues you need to learn to better manage these issues and better communicate with the parent. Not only am I putting in the work at home but the work needs to be put in at school by his teachers as well. As a person who works with people who have behaviors I would highly encourage this facility in providing proper classes for their staff. Get rid of your staff who are there for a check and not to truly make a difference in these children’s life. They are the ones spending the most time with our kids and this is the time where you make a huge impact in their lives. My son was seen as aggressive and emotional. But when you don’t have the proper training to deal with children you’ll label them as a problem. It’s unfortunate I had to pull him out but I hope this daycare will use this experience to help improve their facility.
