I’m very disappointed with the private swim lessons at the YMCA. I enrolled my 4-year-old daughter with high hopes, but it’s been a mess. She only had her first class with the assigned instructor. For the second class, they sent a substitute who didn’t even teach her properly. The third session was canceled, and today the instructor didn’t even show up. This is a complete lack of respect toward my daughter and our family. We’re paying a lot of money for a service they’re not delivering. I do not recommend it.

The pool is nice. We go in the summer because of swimming lessons and the pool. My 8 year old still hasn’t gotten the knack of swimming yet. I noticed the lifeguards talk a lot. The parking isn’t too great. They need more or a bigger building. We did have my kids bday party there and that was great. They also have a kids zone. I wish they offered more classes and more variety of hours. I’m only giving them a 3. I do like it. I wish the rates were lower. Don’t we all? lol-

Very big facility in Anderson compared to some of the Y’s I’ve been to. They have a pool, track, a large space with machines and a smaller room in the back for with free weights. My mother in law brought me there for their Zumba class that morning. I found it to be more challenging and unique since they used very light weights in some parts of the class. It was a different pace than what I was used to because I think the demographic of the class was a bit older. I still thought the instructor did a good job. My only complaint is how slippery the floors were.

Updated 7/13/25: Visited today - hygiene and working items have gotten worse… The TWO family changing rooms are so unhygienic; the room we were in didnt lock, had mold, broken tiles, holes in the ceiling and broken coat hooks etc. Not sure how nothing has been fixed or improved in two years..
Original review (2023): Excellent clubs and facilities on the whole. However the changing rooms, showers and lockers are by far the worst I have ever experienced. The family changing rooms are particularly bad, with poor cleaning and broken items. If these were addressed it would be 5 stars!

Rates are high, even with a discount. Childcare hours are weird and sparse, the personal trainers (multiple) have reached out and asked my hours even when I've made it clear with the personal trainers supervisor and multiple trainers that I have alloted hours. My kids are only at school during a certain time and thats when I can do it. I paid for multiple personal training sessions and no one has reached out with the hours I need. Calling today to ask for refund.
