The director, Kris, is so sweet and understanding and accommodating of our son’s needs. Our son is on the spectrum and needs just a little extra support and space for processing the demands that being in a day care put on a child. The last day care he was in did very minimal in understanding and just wanted to kick him out, we ended up having to move him down to half days and use out PTO from work for the second half of the days until we could get him in here. At Antietam Academy, they let him have breaks when he needs them, they don’t force him to join the class until he’s ready in the morning, and they let him have his “safe” toys to keep in his pocket and pull out to play with when he needs them. The entire 2 and a half years at his old day care, every single drop off was a melt down, we’re only 3 weeks in at Antietam and he already lets me go at drop off without a fight. I am so grateful for their understanding and accommodations ❤️

Parents, I am a child and of you want my honest opinion and experiences I 100% recommend you read this. Basically I used to go here and these teachers were the absolute worst. Whenever a kid gets in trouble they always use the excuse, "This isn't your first day, you knoe better than to do that," and while I'm not defending the kids who did wrong things, I recall on my first day I was running because I was so young and I didn't know better, but yet they still made me do a puzzle for a while. These teachers need to get their act together, not to mention they appear so nice in front of the parents, but when the parents aren't there they yell at kids, including really young kids for being too young to know better. The food may appear good but they do not have any variety apart from jelly, peanut butter and jelly, and the main course, leaving some people kind of out, I understand you can pack but thats not the point. The recess yard was extremely small for the amount of children that went there, not to mention the price is absolutely insane just for poor treatment and being a complete two face, evil side to the kids and good side to the parents. I haven't even mentioned how some children got treated MUCH nicer than others, basically biased. Also the bathrooms were bleeping disgusting, in the time I was there there were about three bathrooms and one of them never worked. Some of the teachers are nice, but it gets absolutely crushed if you put a scale of good things to bad. Dear parents, if you have read this far and care about your child having a fun experience I recommend you do not enroll your child here, I was one of the lucky ones who got out early, leaving in 5th grade compared to their usual pre 7th grade leave. Save your child the emotional suffering of this place and believe me, most 5 star reviews are from a parent standpoint, only seeing the good side of the two face If you are reading this Antietam Academy, I have two words for you, do better.

Hi, I have never expressed a public opinion but felt compelled. Sharing for anyone who might consider child care at this establishment. If I could give zero stars I would. 1. The initial “positive and “happy” introduction of academy /teacher behavior did not match the actual care provided. 2. My child came home with phrases and words specifically, “That place is giving me bad nerves.” “Teachers say they will tell on them to their parents if they did not clean up their mess.” “Teachers raise their voice frequently and makes me want to hold my ears.” “The teacher got in a kids face and yelled at them.” “The teacher was frustrated today.” “Please don’t send me back there.” 3. My child was sick with a headache and a temperature. No one notified us that my child was not feeling well. They instructed my child to lay down and drink water because they might be dehydrated. When confronted, the teacher / director stated that they did not know my child was sick. This was verbal and also written that they took no ownership or accountability. They claimed no one knew my child was sick. 3. Up front, we paid in full for 11 weeks. Because we pulled out our child from this place and did not give a “two week” notice they did not refund us what they truly owed us in return Overall, terrible experience that left a negative impression on my child. If you are thinking to put your child in their “Summer Camp”, just know there will be at least 70 kids of various ages. Not equipped to properly manage such a large group while the teachers / directors are not being able to handle their emotional outbursts. Zero out of 5 stars.

My daughter has been going to Antietam Academy for 2 years & she absolutely loves it! The teachers have done a fantastic job of preparing her for kindergarten. Jared (the owner) & Chris (the director) have always been quick to answer any questions I might have. I always knew my daughter was in good hands, & I truly appreciate the wonderful care she has received.

I currently have two children enrolled at Antietam Academy and I cannot express how grateful we are for the care they provide our children. The environment is enriching both socially and educationally. They participate in daily activities, learn manners, get good meals, and the teachers are absolutely some of the best around. I would highly recommend Antietam Academy to anyone for childcare.
