Asheville YMCA

The YMCA has the equipment I need, classes, a pool, air conditioning, pickle-ball, basketball, parking, friendly staff who are welcoming, it’s clean, the machines and building are maintained. Only negative is, everyone is compacted into one room and the locker room is a maze and just old. The person who keeps the flowers and other plants looking great deserves a shout out too! They are beautiful! I love the YMCA!

I'm really enjoying my membership. I enjoy the water workout classes as well as the sauna. They are really helpful. Also the staff is awesome they are very friendly and helpful it's a wonderful place with a variety of activities for our family members and all ages.

The Y is not just a gym, it's a community. I have made good friends with similar interests. The staff is top notch and knowledgeable, especially Sharon and Babette at the front desk, and Greg, Dee, and Cici (among others) of the aquatics staff. There are great yoga and exercise classes to suit just about any situation. To really get your money's worth, try some of them, you'll meet great people and really appreciate the value of your membership. I'm not an actor nor a paid endorsement representative. I went in with a member to look around and see if it was anything I was interested in (joining). I was quickly reminded why I don’t like big corporate driven gyms. The woman at the desk couldn’t have been more unfriendly and short with us. I doubt they know what true community driven experience is about.

So far, I have had a pleasant time whenever I go to the centers. My kids really enjoy the pool and I appreciate that the facility in downtown Asheville is always clean.
