Blossom International Preschool

It has taken me a long time to have the time and space to leave this review after our heartbreaking, terrible experience with Blossom and the school director/lead teacher Marie. I pulled my son out of his preschool program November 2023 because they didn't have enough hours and it was a very structured/indoor program. My son has sensory processing challenges which under the right circumstances are easily managed. I met with Marie and had her meet my son prior to making the decision to pull him from his old school and switch him to Blossom. At first, everything seemed great. But within a week, the negative feedback began around Leo's behavior. Ultimately, she wasn't set up to support his needs - she has the kids sit for 45 min during circle time which is INSANE for 3-5 year olds, and my son could not handle it. There was a lot of waiting in line during transitions and several other little things I noticed could only work for a certain type of child (one who is very good at following orders). The worst thing was he was aging out of nap time, but because Marie doesn't have enough staff to cover the school day, that was her break time while one other teacher would site with the nappers. While licensing only requires a 30 min rest, Marie was requiring them to be in there an hour and my kiddo was not able to handle it, he needed to move around and make noise. Anyway, in the end Marie kicked our family out after just 4 weeks of having Leo in her room, with ZERO notice. We were scrambling for childcare for months and it was also heartbreaking to have to tell my son he couldn't go back to be with his new friends. Such a wonderful community to be a part of! This is the first preschool that my son attended so we knew that it would be a difficult transition. Adding to the difficulty, my son is Franco-American, so we were looking for a school that would be able to work with him in both French and English. We landed on the perfect location. The director Marie is French and experienced raising kids in both France and the US. From the moment that you meet her you can tell that she is excited and passionate about early childhood education. Her curriculum and way of teaching is fantastic, which enabled us to smoothly transition our son into preschool. He now loves going in each day where he is learning through songs, art, plays, outdoor time and so much more. The school also keeps parents involved and connected through planned events.

In our second year at this school at their new location - couldn't be happier with the teachers, the beautiful indoor/outdoor playing environment, and the overall curriculum. Everyday my child plays instruments, sings/learns new songs, adorns a costume to act a role in the read-aloud story, goes on nature walks, and so much more. The parent community is wonderful with potlucks and school celebrations. The director - Marie - with earnest, dedicated, and bountiful experience has been a gift for my child's first years in school in the ways she creates magic and fosters the children's growth in themselves and as part of their school community.

Blossom is a lovely preschool! Our daughter thrives with the focus on outdoor activities and creative play. The incorporation of drama, music, French language, and art has really helped our daughter flourish. We love the director, lead teacher, and staff and our daughter has made wonderful friendships with the other students. It’s really a loving, positive place! We highly recommend Blossom.

A prime example of how early childhood education can uplift children along with their parents. Our now 3-year old son is making strides and leaps here. Teacher Marie-Pierre and her staff provide a meaningfully supportive international environment that meets parents and children where they are at. Blossom takes a holistic personalized approach to nurturing an individual child through great care, patience, socially engaging activities and open transparent communication with parents. The outcomes are highly inquisitive resilient children ready to take on the next chapter of their lives. It is comforting and reassuring to know our newborn daughter will also one day be able to join our son who has flourished in this tight knit community that we have grown to know and love. We are blessed to be a continued part of the Blossom school and encourage scouting parents to value this rare gem in Boulder.
