A Wonderful Experience at Bright Horizons Redwood City!
We had a fantastic experience at Bright Horizons Redwood City! Our 3-year-old attended for a few weeks as backup daycare and absolutely loved it. The teachers were warm and welcoming, and she looked forward to going every day. The curriculum is engaging with a great STEM focus, and “Show and Tell” Fridays were a highlight. The facility is spacious with a fun outdoor play area, and communication from the staff was excellent—even down to thoughtful details like labeling wet clothes. Highly recommend this daycare to any family!

I felt compelled to write a review to give the current amazing staff at the center the recognition they deserve. Don't let the old reviews scare you -- it's no coincidence the reviews from within the last year are all 5 stars.
My daughter was in the hummingbird infant classroom from when she was 10-12 months old. I was so nervous to leave her at such a young age with new faces, but my expectations for daycare were completely blown out of the water and far exceeded by RWC Bright Horizons. It is so clear Claire (center director) and hummingbird teachers Adriana and Jenn truly love their jobs. The compassion, patience (esp with our baby refusing bottles and throwing a new fruit onto the floor every week!), skill (they taught our baby to go from grabbing toys out of other babies' hands to wanting to share everything!), creativity (turning feet painting into a mother's day flower gift is so cute!!), and empathy (giving us advice to help with our baby's constipation!) were far more than I expected. The fact that our baby didn't even want to come home with us anymore at pickup and could be immediately soothed by one of the teachers at drop-off should speak for itself :)

My employer offers a backup care benefit, and I was able to have my child at Bright Horizons in Redwood City for three days while traveling in the area. It was a wonderful experience. The director and teachers were so kind and attentive. When I picked my child up one day, one of the teachers told me off the top of her head the exact time my child had fallen asleep and woken up. They had the kids do so many fun activities during the day, including painting. And it might have been a quirk based on the week my child was there, but the teacher to student ratio seemed amazingly good.

We drop off our two kids for over three years at BH now, and we have never worried once about them not getting the attention and love we want them to get. In fact, as fresh parents, we relied on their caring staff to help us understand how to read our baby’s subtle messaging better, and how to be more patient and less worried about certain child developments etc.
Yes, full tuition is high, and I wished that teachers would take home a bigger part of that, because they are just fantastic.
I feel compelled to write now, because I think it is unfair to not acknowledge that things have gotten a lot better with management recently. Teachers seem to be more involved in managing the school, updates to the classrooms have been made, and in general- the staff is as professional and caring as always.
If my 3-year old could write a review, he would write that he loves them all.
In short, please talk to some of the teachers first, and trust your gut before making a decision based on negative google reviews.

Our son started in the infant program at 6 months. His teachers in that classroom were great. He didn't want to take a bottle at first and they were patient and taught him how. The new center leadership has been really great during the Covid year too. I would highly recommend this center, especially the infant room.
