We had our son here for about 18 months, from age 3-4. The only reason we left was because I took another job and started working from home. So I needed a new daycare near our house. Bright Light was my very first experience with a day care. I have nothing but great memories! My son was well cared for and happy during his time there. I loved the parents night out evenings the best! Also it was nice in the summer that the kids would go on walks to the water park. We were sad to see our time here end. This is a great place for your children.

My child has been attending bright light academy full time for the past 5 months having started when he was 2 months. We have found the infant room to be staffed by wonderful caring teachers and our son has flourished under their care. The center is well managed and we have felt that our child is very safe there—rules are taken very seriously by the director. The facilities are excellent and I love that the infants have reading time every day and do enriching activities like “art” and sensory experiences. I feel like all of the staff—from my sons teachers to the office staff—have gotten to know my son, which makes me feel good about leaving him there every day. It’s so hard to tell whether any given center is a good fit for any given family or child, but BLA is a safe place for children, has a strong curriculum, and has been a wonderful fit for our family.

Mrs. Bailey and her staff are a refreshing find in the child care industry! Their dedication to the children and families they serve in all things shines through. I'm also impressed by their high safety standards. Mrs. Bailey excels at designing a curriculum that skillfully intertwines fun and learning. The hours for Bright Light cater to the needs of most working parents, with a great deal of flexibility. The cost is reasonable, especially compared to other child care offerings in Pittsburgh. If anything, the pandemic has only proven the high level of commitment of the Bright Light staff - even while isolating at home, with no money coming in, they are serving children and parents through virtual stories & activities daily. My daughter loves getting to see the teachers and friends she dearly misses on screen! In short, I can't recommend Bright Light enough!"

Our child has attended Bright Light Academy since the age of three, due to the convenient location and curriculum offerings. We’ve been nothing short of impressed since the first day. From classroom-to-classroom my child has received excellent care from the teachers, as well as age appropriate education and play to prepare for kindergarten. As full-time working parents, we rely on our childcare center to care and educate while keeping our child safe. With a strict in-and-out policy, I know no one is able to enter or exit without showing proper identification (parents must sign and update documentation EVERY YEAR to ensure the right individuals are designated for pick-up and drop-off). And while the center knows our child’s grandparents pick-up on a monthly basis, they still show identification each and every time. Knowing they have to go through the same process and procedures makes me feel secure in knowing our child is safe. Like anything in life, there is no one-size fits all option for all families – however, Bright Light Academy has been a great experience for our child. We look forward to sending our second child in the near future, considering the high-level of care and education at a fraction of the cost at other centers in the community.

Our daughter has attended BLA for over two years. When we moved into the neighborhood we had a short timeline for securing care for her. The proximity to our home was a huge bonus for us, and we've come to appreciate many other aspects as well. She has built genuine relationships with all of her teachers, and she's always eager to tell us about her day. We appreciate the variety of activities she gets to participate in and the inclusive curriculum. One of her favorite parts seems to be at morning drop-off where everybody says hello to her as she walks down the hall.
