Buddies!

Thank you Buddies-Richlands for loving on Lord Chance. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I can tell he played hard; he is passed out sleep right now. I will continue to drive 20min, passing another location because I KNOW at Buddies- Richlands he is cared for, treated well, and accepted as a big 80lb baby. The smile on his face says it all.

I highly recommend Buddies on Richlands hwy! Nala has been going over there for about 2 months and they have been nothing but helpful. When you read the reviews and when they say “my dog was pulling so hard and knew exactly where to go” they weren’t lying. Nala literally pulls me like never before she loses all her “wait” and “stay” training (she’s 5months) just to go inside buddies! Sindy at the front desk is the sweetest person ever she is very professional, kind, and loves dogs :) i know it can be a stressful job especially with a lot of dogs but they do amazing at showing each and every one personalized care and attention. ima very overprotective anxious dog mama but when she’s here i feel a relief i can get my day to day activities done & work instead of my puppy sitting in her kennel all day. Thank you buddies 🩷

Ive used both their richlands and jacksonville locations and up until my last visit, buddies was my preferred boarder. Some of the problems came from my dogs. They all have different levels of anxiety but as most pet owners know and have experienced, they're much better with their siblings. ESPECIALLY during a thunderstorm. I got a call this last time I boarded my 3, letting me know they had to separate one of my worst anxious dog. I told them immediately that I preferred them to have her with her siblings especially since there was an incoming storm and she could not burrow under mama. I found out they did not let my girl stay with her siblings all that night which rubbed me wrong but I ultimately understood that the staffs safety comes first because you never know a dogs action. Here's the reason for my 1 star: the final day my boy was outside playing and apparently hurt his paw/toe somehow. I was never informed of this. I had to find out from my sister who picked them up for me. I contacted buddies asking what the heck and they seemed genuinely concerned and expressed they would help with the vet bill that I didn't expect. After finding out the xray alone would cost $200, I regretfully declined and came to a compromise of a $180 bill that I kept buddies well informed about. I was told I would receive a refund of my boarding stay for this reason. Flash forward 10 business days before I could ask about it again, I find out they meant "half" but never stated such in the messages. They refunded me my boys part of the stay $65 but in the end how does that help me with a almost $200 bill that I didn't even expect to have after putting them in their care? Their resolution and communication is 100% the reason of this 1 star and i will never be back. Very upset at their nickle and dime picking when I already told them I was declining the xray because I couldnt afford it-while also trying to not rack up a bill that I THOUGHT they'd help with. $65 is a smack to the face and hope it was worth losing a customer who had 3 pets every time I used them. I had just praised them on a post too that I will be deleting right after this posts. Try anywhere else. Edit to add: my boy still licks and sometimes holds his paw up even 20 days after the initial incident. Already know there's going to be underlying issues and I regret not giving him the care he deserved, I just honestly could not afford it after paying them $240 for their 3 day stay.

I have been bringing my dog here for boarding majority of his puppyhood while I leave for vacations or business, and the staff is AMAZING! My dog perks up with excitement when we’re in the parking lot. They give great detailed daily updates and take tons of pictures. The communication is great. The prices are very affordable too! I don’t normally post reviews but after these guys have watched our fur boy for over two years, I think it’s time to give that 5-star review they deserve!! This staff goes above & beyond- taking last minute reservations, sending photos on long trips (including our wedding day!), & putting together events for the dogs! It takes a lot for us to leave our dog but every time we do, we only feel comfortable putting our trust into Buddies. The staff is always friendly, personable, & have a story or two to share when we pick him up. I can’t recommend these guys enough & I promise once you meet the team, you won’t want to go anywhere else!
