Celebree School of Columbia-South

Since my little brother started going to Celebree School Columbia-South, I’ve noticed such an amazing change in him, and it makes me really happy. My brother has speech issues, but since he started there, his speech has improved so much already-it’s incredible to see! It’s truly a blessing to see my brother wake up every morning excited to get ready and go to school. Right away, I could tell that the people who work there aren’t just doing a job-they truly love kids and want to help them grow and succeed. The school has this warm, homey feeling, nothing like a typical daycare. What’s really cool is how much the kids are actually learning. The assistant director, Shayla, is so gentle and kind with him, and all the teachers make learning fun and engaging. Krystalee, the director, is amazing-she’s everywhere, making sure every child feels cared for. You can tell she puts her whole heart into running the school and supporting the kids and their families. I also love how the school encourages parents to be involved. It’s not just a place to drop off your kids-it’s a real community. Plus, the facility is always clean and fresh-none of that typical “daycare” smell-and the security is top-notch with personalized codes for parents and cameras in every classroom. It gives my family peace of mind knowing my brother is safe and well cared for. No place is perfect, but Celebree School Columbia-South is truly special.

From the moment we walked through the doors of Celebree School Columbia-South, we felt like we had found something truly special. The staff here aren't just caregivers; they are genuinely hands-on, attentive, and deeply invested in each child's well-being. They know every child by name, and it’s heartwarming to see the bonds they create. In just three days, my son has already begun to flourish in his development and speech – a testament to the nurturing and stimulating environment they cultivate. One thing that immediately stood out to me-and probably many other parents-is that the facility doesn’t have that typical “daycare” smell. It’s truly a breath of fresh air, both literally and figuratively. I also love the security measures in place: every parent has their own unique code to access the building for drop-off and pick-up, and there are cameras in all classrooms, providing peace of mind that our children are safe and well-monitored at all times. The security here is truly top tier. I especially want to mention a few incredible individuals. The assistant director, Shayla, has such a gentle touch, and my son immediately felt comfortable with her. His teachers are equally wonderful, creating a warm and engaging space for learning. Krystalee, the director, is truly the heart of the school. Her passion and dedication to the children are unmatched. You can see her hands-on in every classroom, connecting with each child. Krystalee is the reason I selected this school; she is running the facility and caring for the kids, but still makes the time to address any questions or concerns you may have. She brings a style of care that’s unmatched, and her team of teachers and lead aides all display the same level of commitment as their leadership. Of course, like any place, there are small challenges, but what shines through is their unwavering commitment to making a positive, lasting difference in the lives of these children. Don’t let any negative reviews stop you from truly discovering this hidden gem in Columbia, Maryland. The warmth, care, and dedication here are real and impactful. Being part of the Celebree family, and especially the Columbia-South community, feels like a true blessing. I feel so fortunate to have found a place where my son is not just cared for, but celebrated and encouraged every step of the way. This school is more than just a learning center-it’s a warm, loving community that I am proud to call home.

I see that this location has a few bad reviews and I have to preface my review by stating that was obviously prior to Kyrs (Director) and the assistant director taking over. Clearly they have turned this location around. My 3 year old son & 8 month son both attend Celebree Columbia South and we are very pleased with this decision. We relocated from another Celebree location to move them closer to home and were nervous initially but after 3 weeks of enrollment we are very happy. My 3 year old started to withdraw at his old school and make excuses not to want to go. But now he confirms every morning “are we going to my new school” followed by his happy dance. The assistant director has a very gentle touch as does his teacher. Krys is very hands on in every class room and with every child. A stark difference to previous experiences with Celebree at other locations where they sit in the office and gossip. Krys is actually too busy running the facility and caring for kids. She brings a style of care that we received from a very good teacher when our son was 3. She brings order and good behavior out of the kids. To the point, my son was excited at pick up yesterday to tell me that “he listened to his teachers”. Her style has advanced him in a 2 week period on his potty training journey. He hasn’t had an accident since his first day and this translates to his home life. Occasionally, I will still put a pull up on him when running errands and he now refuses to go to the bathroom in them. He is will only use a toilet. We had high expectations for Celebree School, as its reputation speaks highly of quality education and care. However, our experience with this particular location was deeply disappointing. The issues began with the new director, Chris, who was unresponsive despite multiple attempts to contact her. She failed to return our calls and offered little assistance, repeatedly stating she was "new" and didn’t know anything. Unfortunately, she also didn’t take the initiative to pass our concerns or information along to someone who could help. Her attitude came across as indifferent, and it seemed as though she didn’t care about our situation at all. As a result of her lack of responsiveness and concern, our child was unable to start on time, forcing us to choose a different center. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering the significant cost of enrollment. For a program with Celebree’s reputation, this level of service is unacceptable. We are very disappointed, not just in the lack of professionalism displayed by the director, but also in the idea that someone with such poor communication skills and apparent disinterest is in charge. It’s concerning to think that someone who doesn’t demonstrate responsibility or knowledge is trusted with managing a center that cares for children. We expected much better and hope this location addresses these issues to maintain the standard Celebree is known for. Sadly, this experience has left us highly dissatisfied.

I signed up my son to start at Celebree Columbia South immediately after meeting and touring the center with the former director, Jonique. This was before the center had completed its build. Jonique was incredibly friendly, personable, an excellent communicator, and you could tell that she truly cared. She worked very hard to open this location. Unfortunately, Jonique left shortly after opening (Celebree should never have let her go) and was replaced by Krystalese. I had the opportunity to meet with Krystalese in person during her transition into the role. She seemed fine, took notes, and said she would follow-up regarding my son's enrollment the following week. After several emails, a phone call, and a message sent through their Tadpoles application, I have heard nothing back over the last 3 weeks. Even a reply to say that she received the email and is still working on it would have sufficed. Due to the lack of communication regarding his enrollment, I have decided to withdraw him from Celebree Columbia South. I know there has been a lot of staffing turnover since opening which has required the director and assistant director to be the primary teachers for classes. I was told by the assistant director that there will be more teachers joining next week. I hope that helps relieve the current staff and ensures better care for the children.
