Update 6/2024: my oldest has since graduated preschool and now my youngest is in preschool here. My sentiments remain the same, we have been nothing but thrilled with the care my children have received here. The staff are all wonderful and my oldest was well prepared for public school. When I went back to work, we tried two different in-home daycares and we had just awful experiences! Quite a few coworkers recommended Central Coast Children's Center mgd. by Bright Horizons and we've been so happy here the past year. The consistency and quality of care, as well as the communication between staff and parents, sets our mind at ease. My 2.5 year old barely even tells her dad goodbye before happily RUNNING into the center and greeting staff. My 4 month old will soon be joining her here at the center I know she will love going as much as her big sister does. Don't bother looking anywhere else, start here!

Both of my sons have attended the Central Coast Children's Center, and I have been more than happy with the care they have received. The director and her team are incredible women who are both caring and professional; they are also flexible and maintain the highest standards of care. More than anything, though, I feel as though my boys have been genuinely *cared for,* meaning that the women who look after them appreciate them as people and want the best for them. They are kind, loving, funny, and encouraging. Moreover, their curriculum is lovely; it isn't so structured that kids can't play, but it still provides them with the foundation needed for academic success. Quite honestly, I think that their science, literacy, and art emphases are especially wonderful and may have spoiled my older son as he is now terribly bored in elementary school. Finally, the playgrounds are well-kept and stimulating (hello dry river bed, veggie garden, and grove of trees!), and they do fun things like "mud day." Ultimately, the kids are allowed to run, forge friendships, and imagine. They also provide healthy snacks throughout the day. For the record, I have had my boys there since infancy and 19 months. Each experience has been great.

I have been sending my boys to this center since they were babies. In almost 5 years of continued child care, I have been impressed with the individualized and attentive care my kids receive. Vanni, the school director and all other teachers and staff are caring and steady positive influences for the kids. I trust my kids are in a safe environment. I would highly recommend this day care center.

As a working parent, the top of my "musts" for childcare are that I have peace of mind for my children's safety and well-being. CCCC - Bright Horizons provides a safe and loving environment for all children. The teachers are caring, responsible, and very responsive to parents' questions and concerns. All of the staff are very professional, and truly take the time to make sure that our children thrive. My children have learned so much, and love their teachers. Their child-focused curriculum allows children to explore their world, at their own pace. I would highly recommend this daycare to any parent who is seeking quality childcare in this area. We previously had our children enrolled in another facility in town, and to compare the two would be impossible, as CCCC - Bright Horizons is a step above the rest.

I am a parent of two girls who have been at MCC for almost two years now, since the ages of 3 and 5 mos. They are now 5 and 2 years old, and the older one just graduated from the Center s preschool. The Center has gone through many changes in that time, for better and for worse. During all of the mostly administrative changes, however, I rarely if ever worried about the care of my children. I have always known they were safe, happy, and thriving. They quickly grew attached to their teachers, and their teachers also grew attached to them. I am confident that my 5yo is ready for kindergarten, thanks to her pre-school teachers at MCC. I am also confident that my 2yo is being potty trained while there. My girls are almost always smiling at drop off and pick up. These are the reasons that I haven t transferred them to another day care, despite the changes I didn t like. So, if you re looking for quality day care in Santa Maria, do check MCC out. I know there are currently openings, particularly at the pre-school level. Also, the other review here is outdated, imho. There have been many facility changes, so the Center is now anything but dirty...although your children will still get dirty as MCC emphasizes LOTS of outdoor play --the outdoor classroom. Also, the teacher turnover --one of the changes I haven't liked-- is coming to an end. The main teachers have always remained but some are in different classrooms now.
