Our 5-year-old daughter loves Centro Vida! The teachers, activities, and facilities are amazing. Every morning, she is excited to go to school to see her teachers and friends, and at the end of the day she is having so much fun that she doesn't want to come home. I highly recommend Centro Vida for Spanish immersion preschool that is both high quality and high value.
Value: Compared to other Spanish immersion programs, Centro Vida is certainly the best value, especially considering that they provide all food, have long hours, and have relatively few school closure days. Additionally, there is financial aid through the state.
Curriculum: Instruction is in Spanish from loving, experienced, and talented native-speaker teachers, which has made our daughter completely fluent (despite us not speaking Spanish at home). They do a lot of play- and art-based activities, which is great for our daughter's interests. We have been impressed to see how much our daughter has developed both in academic and social/ emotional areas. The curriculum also includes a lot about Latin American culture, which has been wonderful to see her learn and get excited by. Every few weeks, the school hosts special guests from various organizations like Lawrence Hall of Science to provide extra learning activities.
Facilities: Both the classrooms and outdoor play areas have great layouts, with more space and variety of activities than we have seen other places.
Extras: As I mentioned above, all food (which is healthy and kid friendly) is included and hand-made on site. Additionally, for a few weeks in summer, the oldest classroom does swim lessons at a local pool, which has been a huge bonus for us. Our daughter generally has not liked swimming before, but being able to take lessons in the company of her friends and teachers has been a huge help.
