Chickadee Infant and Toddler Care

Our kiddo has been attending Chickadee for almost 2 years and we've had a very positive experience. The teachers are friendly, caring and seem to really bond and develop strong relationships with the kids. The Brightwheel app is also wonderful so parents and caregivers get photos and updates throughout the day. It's tough to land a coveted daycare spot in Maine, so we're really glad we found Chickadee.

We are very happy with our child's care received at Chickadee. The staff are caring, attentive, and creative. Our child is always happy, pointing in glee at the facility as soon as they get out of the car in the parking lot. The hours of operation are slightly limiting to us, but we work around it. Our child is always excited to see their teachers. The few times they have had to be picked up sick, we found they were well taken care of. The teachers take time to make weekly and month curriculums, which focus on important age-appropriate life skills. The teachers communicate updates (photos/writing) regularly throughout the day via app and emails. Snacks provided are diversified and healthy. The facility has a nice outdoor space and frequently brings the children outside. We would definitely recommend Chickadee for childcare services.

We have had an incredible experience with Chickadee and feel so lucky to be apart of the community. My son first started when he was about 10 weeks old and has such a wonderful bond with his teachers. The teachers are in tune with each baby’s preferences and needs. We have such confidence that our son is loved and well cared for - it brings peace of mind to be able to go to work or take a day to ourselves knowing this.

If you want a place where you can trust teachers, who uses Waldorf inspired methods, this is the right choice! The student to teacher ratio is very appropriate for your child's age group. Chickadee uses an app on your phone to check kids in and out, communicate what your kid is doing (naps, food, potty activities etc.) and even send photos throughout the day! I like that they teach about all types of people around the world and how they celebrate holidays. Each week also has a theme and kids do developmentally-appropriate activities based on the theme. They're also very careful about allergies, so if your child has one, that allergen is not allowed in the class. The only detractors I would really say is the price, which is a national problem in general, and it can be difficult to change your kid's schedule because space is limited. All in all, we're really happy we made the choice to have her here!

Chickadee has been wonderful for our family, providing excellent care for our daughter and ensuring she felt comfortable during her initial adjustment period. Now, she's happy, social, and thriving. We highly recommend this daycare to others because the staff truly care!
