Children of America Bowie

From the moment I spoke with the director, I felt reassured. She addressed every single concern I had just through her thoughtful explanation of the program. Her attentiveness, warmth, and knowledge made it clear that this is more than just a daycare, it’s a place where children are truly understood and nurtured. She took the time to understand my son’s unique needs and gave me confidence that he would be in a supportive and developmentally appropriate environment. I truly appreciated her care, professionalism, and the time she gave to make sure I felt heard. I can’t wait for my son to start. Highly recommend taking the time to speak with her — she leads with heart and intention.

My son (2yrs old) started at COA a month ago, and I couldn't be happier with the experience thus far. From day one (site visit) staff were welcoming and professional. The center is clean, updated, and has cameras, which is a plus. I love that I can check on my child anytime throughout the day. and He loves his teacher Ms.Nae, which reassured me that he is in good hands. With this being our first time at a daycare center I was super nervous, but COA has great communication, and the daily reports/ updates keep me at ease. A special thankyou to Ms.Des, for the wonderful leadership/team you have, I definitely recommend COA.

The daycare itself is decent, and the presence of cameras is definitely a plus for peace of mind. However, I wouldn’t consider it a true learning center—especially for infants. There are simply too many children compared to the number of teachers, which means the kids don’t get the one-on-one attention they need and deserve. Most of the time, they’re just playing rather than engaging in structured learning activities. The center also lacks proper organization—at times, things felt chaotic, and the overall environment didn’t seem as structured or nurturing as I had hoped. I’ve personally witnessed children being left to cry for extended periods It was difficult to watch, and it made me question the level of care being provided. For the price point, I honestly expected more. The quality of care and level of engagement didn’t align with what I was paying for, and I ultimately felt more comfortable transitioning my child to a smaller daycare where their needs could be consistently met and they would receive more focused attention from the staff. Honestly this review is me being “nice”.

My child's 2 years at Children of America Bowie have been awesome! The structured learning, nurturing care, and jovial environment are amongst some of my favorite aspects of the COA. The director and teachers interact with the students in ways that support their education and social skills simultaneously. The staff offers thorough and timely responses to telephone calls and messages via the Kambuya app. I am enamored by my child's growth as a COA student and I look forward to what's to come! P.S. The extracurricular/ after school activities are a plus!

EDIT: we still love COA bowie!! my son has been there since he was 9 mos and he is now 1.5 yo and has grown so much in his time there! his teachers - esp Ms Jazz, Ms. Allison, Ms. Jackie and Ms. Angelika are so wonderful with him and they obviously love what they do and love the kids in their class!! Ms Des the director, is always wonderful, welcoming and super helpful! All their staff are also super nice and most of them even know my son by name. they have cameras in the classroom so i can see him while he's there and they also send updates/pics and a report at the end of the day. every time i leave him, i'm at ease knowing he's in great hands!
