The team was super helpful from the time we arrived looking for child care to the time we left. The director was very friendly and communicated regularly with us. Our child’s classroom was well kept and the teachers did a great job managing the children. Unfortunately we did have some issues when there was turnover in the staff. The diaper hygiene did require attention but was addressed quickly. I also expected higher tech communication, but my wife handled most of the regular discussions. I had no issues with phone calls. They did not tolerate any sickness symptoms, and it regularly caused schedule disruptions. Fever due to teething was a regular occurrence for us. I understand the caution. We did change locations due to the commute for the sole purpose of childcare.

It is only day 2 for my little 2 year old, but I had to hop on here and leave a review for the smooth onboarding and enrollment process that Ms.Derricka has been so awesome with holding my hand through. She is an absolute sweetheart and always energetic and makes me feel good about where I am leaving my little girl. Not only her but the rest of the staff ahh, I hope it continues this way!! Michelle is always around and ready for you if you have any question and it seems like she’s familiar with all the families there. Ms.Keke - first impression I’m amazed how thorough she was and told me play by play how my little girl did all day and reassured me her behavior was normal in a new environment . Anyways, GREAT START from the staff during this emotional time for me dropping off my little girl somewhere I’m not going to be around.
I pray it continues how it started. I feel supported.

The combination of attentive care and a strong learning environment here has made this place one of the best daycares my kids have attended!!! My son and daughter have thrived here! The staff is open and communicative about any concerns I might have. A daycare that offers both care and education is truly a gem. My son was able to attend their amazing Pre-K program and he loves it also!!! Highly recommend!!!

Children's World, Greenville blvd. 🚩🚩🚩As we were leaving for daycare this morning, my 2 year old told me that his teacher pinched him on his bottom and told him to go to sleep. I went to the daycare, calmly spoke with the assistant director and she asked my son questions. He told her the same thing he told me. They said they would talk to the teacher and call me. In the interim, I contacted DSS to file a complaint and was advised to contact the police to have an official report as this would be considered an assault/abuse. I did that. The police went to the daycare as they stated they would. The director, Michelle, called me and practically scolded me for calling the police. She said that the footage shows the teacher putting her hand towards his bottom and pulling it away quickly. The teacher said she didnt pinch him but she pushed his butt down because it was "in the air" and was wiggling. Pushing his butt down would help him be still to go to sleep 🙄.
For a good 15 minutes out of the 20 something minutes that I spoke to the director I kept asking that we focus on the investigation rather than the fact that I filed a police report. She basically said that I was the one that called them so I made it part of the conversation.
She then proceeded to tell me that since I involved the authorities instead of waiting for her to investigate and call me, effective immediately, he is no longer enrolled in their daycare. We paid them for the month. She would let me know whether or not they will be able to provide a refund.
I'm absolutely shocked with this entire situation but I really feel that I did the right thing as a parent. Even if she only pushed his butt down "quickly", laying on his cot awake and wiggling didn't warranted physical redirection of pushing his bottom down to make him lay flat. The fact that she said she observed her hand go toward him and pulling away quickly, to me, suggests it was pushed forcefully if that is what happened. But my child knows the differnce between and pinch and a push.
The way the director has handled this is appalling.

Children’s World (Greenville Blvd) is a wonderful daycare with a family atmosphere. Our son has attended this daycare since August of 2020. We have grown to love the director and all of his teachers (who still treat him like family when he passes them to walk to his classroom). We feel comfortable speaking to any staff member and have truly appreciated the hard work and love each staff member puts into their daily routines. They have a rigorous and amazing program that meets the kids where they are and challenges them intellectually. My son has blossomed here at this daycare. We have enrolled our next baby (due in the fall) and can’t wait to see his journey here as well!
