Childtime on Harbourside

Horrible communication. I booked this place through Bright Horizon and was told by front desk that I needed to come back with immunizations. When I came back, I was told by the director that they didn’t have room for my child. Why was I able to book and why didn’t you say there was no space when I came the first time? They just didn’t feel like being bothered with a drop in kids because when I call the number to enroll, it says there’s availability. Not the problems I want to have before work.

My daughter started here when she was in infants and is now in toddlers. My daughter will sadly be transferring to a different center soon. My daughter absolutely loves all the staff and teachers at this school. My daughter stops by her old infant classes to say goodbye to her infant teacher and front desk staff everyday as we leave. The teachers my daughter has had throughout her time at this school have been AMAZING. Her Infant 1 & 2 teachers did amazing with her when she was learning to crawl and then walk. Her current teacher in her toddler class does amazing with activities that promotes my daughter’s sensory and motor skills. This school is very consistent with sending food & potty updates and pictures/videos of my child participating in activities. Absolutely love this school and will definitely miss it. I recommend this school to anyone.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. We had been at this daycare for over 4 years and seen three different directors. If you just need your child to be watched and not taught, this is the place. If you want your child to be kindergarten ready, then this place isn’t where you want your child to go. I’m writing this a month after we left, so I’m more level headed to write a decent review.

We adored this center for four and a half years until a change of administration shined light on several things that we happening at the corporate level. First, we moved my older son in November because a teacher was bullying him and singling him out. The teacher also physically threatened him and neither the center director or district manager followed up when notified. The teacher remained at the center until at least 12/27/22. There is constant turn over and daily breaking of ratios. Finally, we were notified on a Saturday 12/17/2022 that my younger son’s (who remained at the center because of the teacher he was with while we waited for a spot at our new center in June) classroom would closed for WEEKS. They closed 3 of the 7 classrooms with zero business days notice. They did not rotate classrooms or provide a date care would be available. Ironically, the new director had also closed her previous location as well, or that’s what she told me over the phone when she assured me that she wouldn’t do the same at this center the morning of 12/16/2022 when she called to follow up on the his classroom being closed for (what we thought) was the day without notification. There are much better centers in the area, I am so happy about our new center. If you enjoy wondering if you’ll have childcare or not, this is the place for you. Otherwise, look a bit further down Hull Street.

We have been going to Childtime since January 2020. We were able to test out the facility before we officially started by having our son attend the discovery day where he got to enjoy the classroom and met his classmates and teachers. When I tell you that he loves it, HE LOVES IT! The teachers and staff made him feel so comfortable and when it was time for him to officially start, the transition was so smooth! He’s always excited to go to school and he learned so much! He is now in kindergarten and still goes there for before and after care. I also have my youngest child in the Infant room since March 2021. She is very much loved and cherished at Childtime and is very comfortable with all the teachers. Everyday at drop off, she launches herself at whoever is at the door. All the staff and teachers that we have come across have been very open with their plans and communications. If there are any issues or concerns, we were notified as well as informed of any action plans that needs to be reinforced at home. I really appreciate the open communication with the school. There were some rough patches in the early of the pandemic, but the care and safety of the kids remained their priority. The new management team of the school are doing the best day can to ensure the kids are safe and well taken care of. I can’t thank you all the staff and teachers enough for their dedication.
