Childtime on Renaissance Center

My child went here a little while ago and although it served its purpose during that time, it wasn’t a great experience. Jasmine had horrible energy towards me not sure why but it was all the time. Jasmine scratched my baby so bad once and wrote it up as a diaper rash because she had to put cream on it. She would speak condescendingly towards me as a mother and I’ve witnessed on video her dismiss/ignore my child who was not even 2 at the time. I’ve witnessed on video Shantelle and Jessica squeeze babies hands when they did something wrong to the point it made them cry. My baby once followed behind shantelle out the room I guess when she wasnt supposed to and the next thing I saw was my baby being pushed by the top of the head back into the room and she fell on her butt. I also saw shantelle snatch kids up. Terrible treatment. I complained to the director who said she would review the tape and nothing ever came out of it. And if you complain you can expect worse treatment towards your child. They will treat them so cold and literally ignore them. I’m so glad I was able to get my child out of there.

Almost a year later, and I’m still at a loss for words…. My husband and I trusted this daycare with our first and only child and now we will never ever enroll into another daycare because of it. We both work downtown and after much thought enrolled our child at the facility. At 10 months old, my daughter negligently fell from a changing table at-least 4ft high, onto what is believed to be a hard cement floor. Her eye was swollen shut and our hearts ripped from our chest. She was rushed to the emergency room, where a CT was performed, seen by an ophthalmologist and we had to take several days off work and watch our child suffer, it was and is heartbreaking. Mom/Dad guilt feels our bodies often. ChildTime or their affiliates will never get an endorsement from us. Almost a year later and I break down thinking of it. This daycare is not cheap and we never questioned the price, because we thought the price ensured a certain caliber of employee caring for our child, but Morgan Johnson is a soulless person, who’s neglectful actions shifted our lives greatly in the worst way. We still don’t know all the long term effects and prayfully there are none, what I do know is anyone considering this place should prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. Morgan Johnson should never work with children, she’s neglectful and heartless. I regret the day I enrolled my child into ChildTime.

This is such a wonderful place! During the 2023-2024 year, our son was in the Twos and Toddler groups. The time spent there has been wonderful for his development. The teachers are always very kind, considerate and giving, and always kept us up to date on how he was doing. The children often participate in creative activities (painting, singing), and while he is a picky eater, he often also had some of the cooked food that the kids get at lunchtime. Childtime has been an amazing place for our now 3-year old. A friend, as well as a colleague of my wife had both told us wonderful things about this place, and Childtime is truly an amazing daycare center. The people are very kind and warm, the center is very well-managed, and attending it has been a great experience for our son and has helped him grow socially and intellectually!

Let’s say if you’re looking for a daycare that looks good on the outside, then this is the place. My son attended this daycare since he was seven months old up until he was two and a half. Some teachers would have bad attitudes. They treated “certain” parents with more respect than others. The director had the worst communication problem! My son went on a custody vacation to see his father for the summer. The entire staff knew about it. Somehow, when my son gets back to Michigan, he is mysteriously unenrolled and has no daycare to come back to. I have been off work for three weeks, scrambling to find childcare for my son because of the lack of communication from the director. No one called me and told me anything about the classrooms filling up. They just left me out to dry in the cold and forced me to take off of work. I received no call and no email to let me know my son lost his spot. I called a week before he returned to ensure his spot and the day he returned. They said they had space. The next thing I knew, they said they didn't, and I should go somewhere else. This place has failed me! Not to mention, my son had over 20+ incident reports. This place is not worth the high tuition they are charging. Sorry, but this daycare has failed my expectations! I wouldn't recommend this place at all!

Highly recommend this daycare to families who live and/or work in Detroit. The teaching staff is attentive, nurturing, and dedicated, and the administration was extra helpful when we enrolled our second child. We are so grateful for Childtime!
