CSUB Children’s Center

Note that the CSUB daycare changed ownership over 3 years ago, so that 3-star review on this page (by DV) may not be related to the current owners. My son of about three years has been here since he was about a year old. He graduated from the baby classroom into the toddler classroom. The staff here genuinely care for my son, I feel that they love him a lot, and give him the care he needs. He is lactose intolerant, and they were careful to not give him milk, etc. He loves the food made by the current cook and they frequently tell me that he loved his lunch. My son is level 2 SPED, and they were very kind and gave some accommodations to allow my student to continue at the daycare, he attends only in the mornings and does not stay for nap time. They seem to care about his growth and have a lot of toys that will help him grow to meet his milestones. In the toddler room there are also structured activities to help them grow such as singing, making tie die shirts, book reading, etc. They currently have a lizard and I think at one point they had a butterfly (?). They are also careful to not let students play too much in the mud. Generally speaking this is a very safe location. The UPD frequently patrols the area. I feel very safe with my son here. If you're a student or work at CSUB, its also very convenient. The only downside here: Its very hard to figure out how to get on the waitlist for this place.

My daughter loves the Children’s center. I love the staff, and felt safe having my daughter there while I attended classes throughout the week. I have since graduated from CSUB, but my daughter still talks about “her school” and how she misses her friends and teachers.
