I’m not normally the type of person to review, but I don’t feel like the one star left by Zoe C is fair at all. My son was in the same classroom with Zoe C’s daughter before she left.
I have had my son here since he was 6 weeks old, he’s now just over 1 year. I love his teachers to death. They are so sweet and have such a natural ability with infants. I have watched interactions in other classrooms and the teachers genuinely care about the kids and go above and beyond what they are required to do to teach and nurture those kids.
They always show me cute pictures of what my son has done that day and tell me how his day was. Their communication is amazing. I always know how many times he pooped, what he ate, how much he ate, if he was fussy, if he was super happy, just any detail a mother would want to know. I am always called if there is an issue that can’t wait until pickup. The directors are also awesome, they really know the kids and take the time to get to know the parents too.
They do have an RN on staff, which I was excited about. I’m not sure why Zoe seemed to have an issue with that, but I like knowing that she is there in case a situation arises where she is needed. She has been a good resource if I have medical questions as well.
Bottom line guys, if you are thinking about this center, go and see it for yourself and talk to the directors and the teachers. Please do not take the opinion of one disgruntled parent, because her review is not accurate at all. They have a waiting list for a reason.

Not trustworthy or dependable :( I loveddd this place when my kiddos 1st started but a lot has changed. They will not do as asked. I specifically left a note at drop off with work# & emergency pickup info asking to please call me @ work on said number if ANYTHING is going on! I need to know when things are going on so I can plan accordingly as a parent.
There was extremely poor to no communication and so many times I came in to drop my kids off I got nasty looks or staff wouldn’t speak to me.... they just did NOT like me. If you write out instructions and ask for staff RN or WHOEVER to call you at work as soon as possible if your child is sick so you can make arrangements there should be no excuse why they would wait to say anything at pick up when they claim your child has been sick all day that’s why they can’t come back the next day then when I question why they didn’t call they say because it happened late in the day right before pickup at 430-5pm!! Like me or not... there is no excuse to treat a family that way!!! That is my issue period! Highly unprofessional and discriminatory.
I am also NOT one to ever write reviews but this experience more than warranted. I should have continued further. If this happened to you instead of what you claim to experience at the same daycare you would be a “disgruntled” parent also.
For anyone arguing my review isn’t “fair” or “accurate”... My family wasn’t treated fairly and this was ACCURATELY MY experience. My issue with RN was the unprofessional attitude that was directed at me after discussing with pediatrician. I’m not saying the majority of others don’t have great experiences but we were treated differently and we are minority.
I won’t claim it’s because of race or economic status being on vouchers or being a young single mother of 3... but if you have a lot of odds against you... you MIGHT experience the same. Obviously no one bases their decision off of ONE bad review but I feel strongly my experience should be shared because I have successfully worked in childcare that my children have attended for years... I have NEVER heard of or experienced something as awful as what KEPT happening at this place.

We currently have two children at East Asheville Academy and have been with them since 2018.
The staff has been helpful and professional, even during these stressful COVID times, and have a genuine care for the kids. We are happy with our decision and our kids are happy going here.
