I recommend this daycare because they are students/teachers continuing their education. The have “viewing rooms” where you can sit and watch your baby and they have a very secure in/out entry card security system. We loved our teachers, I never felt pressured to leave if I wanted to watch, and my daughter had a really great experience there for over 2 years. When we left, they were nice enough to send my daughters “first day” photo to us.

They do not care about the emotional health of the children! I was so excited when my girls received spots at E.L. Cord Foundation Child Care Center and could not be more disappointed in the results. My two-year-old had just transitioned to the ‘Red Butterflies’ when she needed something before nap and approached one of her teachers for help. The teacher was talking with another adult and did not have time for my child. Being two, she handled the rejection with a raspberry. This triggered the teacher to yell at her and send her to nap, where she cried herself to sleep. This is just one of many events in which I feel were not handled correctly. After multiple events and meetings, nothing changed and my child developed a great distrust of the staff and would cry of the thought of going there. We have since found a new child care provider and she is so much happier.

I don't think they they actually watch the children at all. When my first child arrived, she could count to 20 and ask for things politely. After 12 months at EL Cord, she couldn't count to 10 and thought whining is the only way to get attention. At this pace it will take at least a year to repair the damage. My baby who could not yet crawl got a GIANT bite on the back, displaying both top and bottom teeth. Got to say I'm not a fan of the staff and their thinking, suggesting that as a parent I 'Cared too much'

My 3rd child currently attends and just loves it. The activities, the outdoor play area and the sheer love that my kids feel and felt. The directors are educated and experienced. Being a working mom can be a stressful tug at your heart strings. The Preschool makes me feel at ease and confident that they are teaching and preparing my child, and that he's also having fun.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! More than a daycare as their curriculum aids in the children's preparation for kindergarten in a friendly and encouraging environment. We also have peace of mind as TMCC controls who goes in & out of the center and the staff is watchful & attentive. Our 2 sons went there since toddlers thru pre-k and our next will start in a few months as we both work. This is not a low-cost location, however, when you consider the investment in your child's education, health, security and overall well-being this is the best deal in the Reno/Sparks area. Check them out!
