First Baptist Church Brunswick

I hate having to leave a bad review on a church but it’s imperative for those looking for a church home to find the right church. So, it’s only right I share my experience. I have struggled with my faith repetitively since I was a kid like most kids I was indoctrinated by my parents - which is fair parents have the right to pass on beliefs to their children. However I wanted to find God on my own terms - I began this search in my early 20s to find God, family and meaning. Through my 20s I have found God and I have found meaning. As I turn 30 it became evident that looking for a family in church only leads to disappointment in big churches like this. First I wanted to get involved - I reached out to several members of the church via email. I repetitively got no response. I recently got married and tried to undergo premarital counseling which the church failed to schedule in time. I tried joining a new small group - young married group - two members (not even elders) kicked me out of that group without consulting elders siting some rumors and drama from highschool. This church is extremely superficial and claims to help so many over seas when they’re not even catering to those right in front of them. Here’s some advice for anyone seeking God - DO NOT REALY ON A CHURCH. Do not tithe to a church that does not give back to the community. Instead directly give your money to those in need! As I got frustrated and took a break from the church not one person reached out in fact they just removed me from our small group group chat.

Great church + great people across all age groups. Very welcoming and warm. You can tell that the Spirit of the Lord is in this place. If you live close, you need to go visit. Sundays 9am for small groups, worship at 10:30am. Mid-week during the school year there is Awana for the kids, Youth for the teens and teaching for the adults. You won't regret it. People there really care about each other and Pastor Chris Winford provides genuine biblical based teaching.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this church for the Spark Conference. Everyone was friendly and the event was extremely well organized! Would love to go back sometime.

I was enjoyed the visit, I was helping a friend do some volunteer work there. But I must say that the Church has a fantastic Children ministry, and they also have a very popular Music Ministry, that often performs for the Community.It a very large Church that's active in the Community.

Great Word, from God's servant , Chris . Praise team and soloists were wonderful and set proper tone for sermon on Elijah. Congregants were welcoming, especially Rob Hicks, and facilities were quite pleasing. All who desire to visit church ,while vacationing in Brunswick, Ga will truly enjoy this experience or even consider becoming members. Yours in Christ, David Tew
