Gilden Woods Portage

This is our first experience with daycare and when touring Gilden Woods it had everything we wanted. We really like how the building has its own space, it is not in a shared plaza like a lot of daycares are here. They have a security system, so not just anyone can walk in and parents have camera access to whatever rooms their child is in. The building itself and their backyard is clean, neat and organized. We feel like since Katey has taken over as director, she has really turned this place around, making it overall a safe and high quality place for infants, toddlers and younger children. The teachers have been outstanding. We love it when they send videos and pictures throughout the day. I love how they can communicate with you through their app or you as the parent can reach out to them. Even though they are busy, they do get back to you in a timely manner. We are only a few months in, but so far it's been a great experience and our little one seems to be enjoying his time here. As first time parents, it's SCARY to send my son just anywhere, especially when we have zero experience about this sort of stuff. There are days I get sad dropping him off but I know he's in good hands here and if I have any questions or concerns, the teachers and directors are open to have a conversation about it. I'm not sure about how other locations of this branch are but this one is the one to go to!

The staff at Gilden Woods are truly amazing! We loved our experience here and are only leaving due to moving out of state. My kids both loved their teachers and I appreciated the pictures they would send throughout the day as well as being able to login in and see them on the live feed. Thank you, Ms. Katey, for everything!

I absolutely will not ever again send my kid to this place. Over the last 3 weeks my son has received over 20 incident reports. After the 3rd they said they’d watch him closer. 4 of them are him getting hurt and the rest he got them for biting! He’s not even a year old yet! He can’t walk let alone run, so in order for the incidents to get that high, it’s very clear that my son wasn’t being watched. I paid a little over $1400 basically for them to do the bare minimum feed him and make sure he doesn’t die.

Gilden Woods has been amazing for us and our son. He has learned so much, made great friends and received the best care. Katey and Allysa run a great school and we wouldn't choose anyone else to take care of our son!

Katey and Alyssa have turned this place around 10000%. We spent a year at Kindercare and my sweet toddler cried almost every day she had to go, that was our first experience with a daycare. We made the switch to Gilden Woods Portage and I had a lot of concerns, especially regarding the staff and hiring requirements; Katey took all of the time I needed to sit down with me and answer all of my questions, show me everything I needed to feel comfortable placing my child in their care. She prioritizes mandated reporting for all of their staff regularly. We've been here since February and my child LOVES it here! She's excited to go everyday, she asks to go to 'school'. The teachers are attentive, caring, considerate of each child, they actual teach well, and communicate with families well. I love it here too, the directors know every child and their families, they really do make you feel like family is caring for your children. I praise them daily. I'm impressed and grateful. I truly believe that's because of the effort Katey and Alyssa put into ther leadership here.
