My children have came here for many years, they started on the preschool side and transitioned into the K-8 side. The preschool teachers were all so nice and welcoming, they made sure my children were ready for school! The director was always accommodating and willing to work with me on payments during hard times. The assistant principal and principal on the K-8 side were always very involved and helpful. My children all test at the top of their class and love going to school! I can't thank HCLC enough for not only teaching my children but loving them too!

My grandson has attended this school for years. I couldn’t be happier with the way he has excelled! The school is always clean. The staff is amazing. The director goes above & beyond in every aspect. My grandson has gone from hating school to loving it & from refusing to do his work to high honor roll! I would give HCLC a thousand stars if I could!!

We looked at many schools before enrolling our kids and I was beginning to think we would never find any to fit my wife's expectations. From the minute we stepped in HCLC, I knew this school was different. From the sweet ladies up front to the nice teachers in the classrooms our children have thrived here. The school is always so clean and I have dropped off before when they were cooking lunch and wanted to stay and eat! They really go above and beyond and it shows! Its a hidden gem in Lakeland for sure!

This daycare deletes google reviews so please read! My children were enrolled at this daycare for approximately 1 month. During the tour Shara seemed really understanding & friendly considering that we were in contact for 1 week before completing the tour. During that time she stated they only had 1 spot for each of my daughters ages & that my oldest daughter would be in the 2 yr old class until she was fully trained to learn how to #1 independently. After the 1st week the director was trying to kick her out because they had another student enrolling in that class & didn’t have room for my daughter. I explained that she only advised me of them having 1 spot & we discussed our goals for my children during the tour & this was unfair. Shara stated that she would keep my daughter & work toward moving her up without any accidents according to their policy. Which they did, but soon after learning their funding status Shara began to weaponize their reporting system creating bad reports for my children every single day. She eventually dismissed my daughter from the program for coming to class with a pull up. Although we never had any prior conversation about it & I explained it was not a routine but I had to do laundry that week, they had 4 pairs of her bottoms in class, it seemed like a no-brainer to switch her into her bottoms but they didn’t care. My daughter was fully potty trained at this point but Shara stated “I’ve already initiated the dismissal” during our conversation about the incident. The Instructor for my 1 yr old stated that she bit someone unprovoked, but when I came to pick up my daughter her lip was busted and her nose was bloody, she had cuts inside of her ear on both sides. Her teacher stated that another kid walked up to my daughter & then my daughter “just bit them”. Yet no one, explained her bloody face on the phone. After I begin to report these incidents they stopped calling me & only left a report for my mom to pick up at the end of the day but Shara would contact the ELC after each report. She then reported to ELC that I removed my children. It’s been 1 month since my kids were kicked out & my daughter hasn’t had a single biting incident. She never had one at her previous daycare, at home, or with relatives either. Again, weaponized reporting system & discriminatory practices. Because there was no abuse ELC & DCF could care less. Be aware of their director.
