Ilhaan Home Daycare

I truly cannot overstate what an incredible place this is and what wonderful people run it. (We call it the magical daycare.) Our daughter has been here for over a year, since she was 5 months old, and we could not ask for more or better. Our daughter is social, curious, and confident — all traits that we attribute to the phenomenal care and attention she has received from Khadra and her daughters. They are thoughtful, kind, loving, and welcoming — we feel so incredibly lucky that our daughter is learning from them and growing up in their care. We have variable schedules, and they have been seamlessly flexible with our drop-off and pickup times. (I actually don’t know how we would function without them.) They seem to know our daughter as well as we do, and it is clear that she absolutely adores them — dropping her off feels like leaving her with family. In short, we love it here, our daughter loves it here, and, really: they are exceptional!

I put my daughter at Ilhaan daycare when she was 4months old and it was the best decision I could have made! I was so stressed out the first day only to go pick her up and find her smiling and having a great time hanging out with kids of all ages. A few months later, when she started crawling, I would go pick her up and she’d see me and run away the opposite direction!!! She LOVES it here! Khadra and her 4 daughters are real naturals and their love for all kids is evident from how well they all develop into happy, energetic little humans! I highly recommend Ilhaan. We’ve been with them for over a year now and plan to stay until our girl is ready for school.

My son has been going to this daycare for going on three years now as well as attending the preschool, and I couldn’t hope for a better place for him to learn and grow! Khadra and her daughters are the kindest most loving people and have really helped us feel more at home here in Washington. In the time he’s been here he’s really come out of his shell, he’s so much more outgoing and confident and I know that’s because his agency is respected, his curiosity is fostered and he’s seen as the whole wonderful person that he is. I used to have to work weekends and during those days I didn’t have to worry about my son feeling left out of the fun because he was at his home away from home with his other family, having a blast and playing with his friends. I highly recommend Ilhaan if you’re looking for a daycare/preschool for your little one, your child is in the best hands here!

So lucky we found Ilhaan Home Daycare. We were initially looking at big box chain daycares, but wanted a setting that was professional with consistent caregivers. Khadra and her daughters genuinely love babies and kids, and they provide such a nurturing and playful environment for the children. Being a family-run daycare, our daughter has bonded with Khadra and her daughters which is important for her emotional and social development as she grows. They are great communicators and a truly wonderful home daycare😊 * Update 10/2024: Khadra the owner of Illihan Daycare won Teacher of the Year with Voice of Tomorrow preschool program! Could not go to a more deserving person and family:)

This daycare takes wonderful care of our daughter. She has been going there since she was four months hold, and is now 14 months. They are so kind, genuine and caring, and our daughter is always happy to be there. As a first time parent, I was nervous about choosing the right daycare, and Ilhaan home daycare has been a wonderful choice. Our pediatrician commented on how social and chatty our kiddo is for a one year old, and I know that her time playing and learning at Ilhaan home daycare is a huge part of this. I highly recommend this daycare!
