I'm Just A Kid

My child has been at IJAK since she was 3 months old, she is now 18 months old and we have had a very positive experience. What initially appealed to us was the tour with the owner Ms. Vicki who seemed very engaged; she highlighted that they are curriculum focused, and encourage family involvement. I have really enjoyed the staff, they have been caring and supportive. Another review mentioned staff turnover and staff turnover is an issue with early childhood education across the board. As a society there is not as much as an emphasis as there should be on supporting early childhood education and education period, which creates its own set of challenges beyond one institution. The staff that IJAK has had and continues to have are all quality employees. I speak with the teachers and support staff daily to receive updates and feedback about my child's progress and I also share insights and information with them to ensure we are all on the same page. The environment is caring and nurturing. Ms. Vicki and Mr. Ernest have made many improvements to the facilities even in the short time we have been there and they are always thinking of new ways to enhance the environment. The director Ms. Ana was very good at re-assuring me and keeping me updated in the beginning, because like most new moms I had trepidation about leaving my child in the arms of strangers. They sent me pictures and updates and openly shared about the highs and the lows my child went through in adjusting. I feel very comfortable with my child being at this school and I also feel confident in the educational value of the program as I can see a direct impact on my child's development. IJAK can provide babies and toddlers a solid foundation in a caring and supportive environment with staff that are engaged and committed to your child's success.

I’m just a kid is not a daycare it’s a school and with that being said this facility has helped my daughter with expressing her emotions, potty training and being able to verbally communicate. I love the curriculum and how it’s very in depth informative. She started when she was 17m old and she is now turning 3 next month and everyone says how smart she is. I love this school and the teachers especially Ms. Leah she does a great job engaging with the children and teaching the curriculum.

My toddler started at IJAK in November. The owner, Vicki, was thrilled to answer all my questions during orientation. I was nervous my baby would not want to stay at IJAK since he was used to his previous daycare. However, I was so happy to start to see his excitement every time we pulled up to the school. I am especially thankful for the cooperation I have gotten from the director, Ana, with my toddlers diet. I have some limitations on what he consumes and whenever I bring something up about his food, Ana listens and brainstorms with me. I have also noticed his speech develop. I am amazed at how many new words he has, what seems like, every week. Then we started my infant and again I had mom guilt for leaving her with anyone else but me or her dad. Ms. Rachel picked up on my nervousness and assured me of her lengthy experience with infants. Now, my infant smiles when she sees Ms. Rachel in the mornings. Ms. Rachel listens to my concerns and cooperates with my wishes for my baby. It is a sad reality that turnover rates at daycares are not great. However, I do see that Vicki does her best to run the logistics so that the kids are not impacted by this. Overall, I believe I’m Just a Kid is a school I trust to leave my babies in and am excited for their continued growth.

I highly recommend for infants. Was weary and afraid to leave my 3 month old in daycare when I had to return to work. It broke my heart. We were welcomed with open arms by Ms Vicki and Ms Rachel takes care of my baby boy as if he were family. My parents call her the second grandma 😂. She has a keen eye for detail and gives me full updates on his activities and demeanor throughout the day with plenty of photos. It puts me at ease everyday. When I drop him off in the morning and he sees Ms Rachel he gives me a big gummy smile. And I can tell they love and care for my baby boy. It takes a village and I am eternally grateful to have these ladies be part of my village and help raise my little one ❤️

This place is amazing teachers and staff are alsome and so genuine. They are so professional and has the structure and organization that parents are looking for to let not only anybody take care of their children, teachers are informative and loving. I love the way they interact with the children, and I love the curriculum and the safety measures they have in place. It's very clean, and the setup for the children is very nice. The curriculum the teachers uses will have your child ready for school! If you looking for care with a safe and Learning environment I'm Just a Kid is the place where your child should be!
