We met Miss Sonya back in April 2021 when our son was only 3 months old. My heart felt instantly that my child was going to be safe and well taken care of. My son had very bad reflux due to lactose intolerance, and I exclusively breastfed for the first 18 months. Miss Sonya and her team were great on working with me during that time, and made sure that he was happy and content following all the good practices to preserve my milk and give it to him while in their care. Miss Sonya has great, open and professional communication with anything that happens around the daycare. My son also has a blood disorder that only requires a little bit of extra attention to some specific signs. She and the staff always communicated with me, and helped me navigate these 3 years that was really new to me. I personally love how it just looks like a big diversity family (love the different races and nationalities that we have now - us being one of them - and we are also a military family), kids playing together, pets around, nutritious food prepared at the home and my son now being a 3 year old still gets excited to go to daycare and spend his day with his friends. Through these 3 years, I could see how Miss Sonya and her team work hard to keep the standards and qualifications up, and she really demonstrates how important the home style daycare is for her reflecting directly on the kids. She has renovated her space, and it was great and the kids have lots of space, and it seems that the kids enjoy every corner even more. Lots of activities and learning. My son has thrived through these years. This being my first child, Miss Sonya has guided us through some many milestones and made me feel comfortable that she was working with him and the others kids, the same way we are working at home to raise these little humans. It’s a great daycare and we recommend it.

I enrolled my 2 kids when one of my babies was only 6 months and I was SO NERVOUS after being a stay at home mom for 2+ years. My son was breastfed to 14 months and they made sure to warm his bottles just how he liked them, and did everything to properly preserve the breastmilk during the day. Miss Sonya has reached out to me anytime there was a slight change in either one of my children’s behavior to double check things or get them the support they needed, especially while weaning my now, 1 year old. During the interview I had with Miss Sonya, she informed me that my children would be able to play and interact together throughout the day which was so important to me. I didn’t want them separated for 7+ hours. She also informed me that she had a dog and a cat, which I loved, because I want my children to have positive interactions with safe animals. The communication is great at this center. I’m always told in advance when my children need diapers or extra clothes. They not only treat my kids like family, but my husband and I too. My kids are very attached to me and Miss Sonya and her staff are patient in the mornings when the kids only want their mama. They take time and let the kids warm up and find their friends instead of shoving us (the parents) out of the door like some centers would do. Miss Sonya greets them with words of affirmation like “good morning pretty girl” etc. Her light shines through and the love for the children shows. We have received pictures and updates throughout the day that ease my mind when I miss them at work. Miss Sonya has gone out of her way to make sure she is there for us in every aspect. My children are excited to go to “school” every morning which says a lot. They come home tired from arts and crafts, learning, and playing all day. My daughter learned so much and made huge strides in potty training with the help of the staff. They have made friends that my 2 1/2 year old loves telling me about (how awesome is that.) All of the other parents are respectful and kind as well as the children that also attend. Diversity is important and I love how diverse this daycare is. There is a very equal mix. I had an altercation at drop off with a newer family that started attending, and Miss Sonya handled the situation very professionally. That was the first and only incident we’ve ever had. My husband and I were impressed by how swiftly and respectfully it was handled, especially in front of children. I have nothing but respect for her and all of the other ladies who work at the center. I would recommend Indy Kids to anyone looking for a safe place for their children to attend. Miss Sonya and her staff are patient, kind, attentive, and respectful to both our children and to our wishes.

Since I can’t respond I am going to make my review here.
The most recent review about Ms Sonya was not explained fully. The last few sentences that were stated about an incident happening on Thursday morning 2/29 around 8-8:30am was because of parking. Ms Sonya owner of Indy Kids Daycare has posted in her entrance if you are in a hurry do not park in the driveway because you could potentially be blocked in. A mom blocked in Elsa and Elsa got out of her car told the other mom to move. The other mom already had one kid out of the car and getting her second child out. Elsa wanted her to put her children back in the car and move her car. Elsa exchanged some words to the parent and ended up threatening her. As I walked my child Elsa was right behind me and was trying to tell Ms Sonya to have the mother move her car. Ms Sonya didn’t know what was going on and was bombarded by this woman before even having the story. Ms Sonya apologized and told Elsa the policy on parking in the driveway which Elsa then said “if that is the case I might have to pull my daughter out” Ms. Sonya replied and said “okay that’s fine I’m sorry” Ms Sonya is an amazing daycare owner. She has the RIGHT to have all ages together if they need to be it is a family daycare NOT a center. Ms. Sonya has helped my daughter and so many other children grow and learn. My daughter has excelled since being there and she has been to two other daycares before. I have seen her and her employees love my child and all the other children. I’m very serious about who my daughter goes to and who watches her and I have never had one doubt in my mind that Ms Sonya would ever put my child in harms way. Around 2-3 months ago my daughter was struggling with behavior issues. I was in school full time working and my partner was also working and trying to take care of her. She was struggling at home with the changes and it effected how she was behaving at school. Ms.Sonya called me almost everyday to update me on my daughter and gave so much advice and help and patience in the process. She excelled when we first brought her there 1 year ago from saying a few words to over a 100 in just 2 months. They structure the children and advocate on every kid one of the youngest or oldest they all get the attention and education they deserve. She worked with my daughter before she even turned 2 on potty training and paci training. She has educated us on different ways to discipline her at home that are healthy and effective. There are always two sides to a story and this review I take personal because Ms Sonya is a beautiful soul. When I was looking for child care I was turned down by a church because of my “life style” I am a lesbian mother and my daughter has two moms. When I went to Ms Sonya desperate for child care for my daughter she welcomed me with open arms even as a Christian woman. She walks with true love. She and her staff go above and beyond and I know for a fact every parent there would say the same thing. That is why most of the kids she has now have been with her for years which speaks volumes. Indy kids daycare is a safe, learning, family environment. I wish I could write more but I’m running out of characters. I am an advocate of Ms Sonya and Indy Kids Daycare. I will send every kid of mine to her.

My 2 children have been attending Miss Sonya’s daycare for 7 months. They have grown and learned so much while being in their care. My daughter knows her abcs, colors, counts to 30, days of the week and months of the year at 2 1/2 years old. They put their heart and soul into making sure our children are loved on and growing both physically, mentally, and emotionally. We have never had any issues the entire 7 months until a new family threatened my wife at drop off. My wife parked behind her and already had our oldest out of the car and our 1 year old baby unbuckled. This mother insisted that my wife put our kids back in the car to move out of her way. Miss Sonya handled the situation promptly. My wife felt safe because of the other parents watching out for her as well as Miss Sonya and her staff. Our children talk about Miss Sonya and the staff all of the time even on the weekends, they think of them as family. It is insulting to think someone would put down such a kind and loving woman over a parking situation. I have and will continue to recommend Indy Kids to anyone looking for place for their children, where they don’t have to worry.

We first met Mrs. Sonya in 2016 when we had to quickly find a new daycare. From the first moment my eldest met Mrs. Sonya she took to her and we knew it was a good fit. Five years later we are still very happy with our choice. We now have 2 girls and they love going to daycare. Mrs. Sonya and her team are truly genuine, kind and caring ladies that have helped my children grow and develop over the years. She sees characteristics in the children and adapts the activities based on how they learn, grow and develop. My oldest has thrived with Mrs. Sonya and is ready to go straight into Kindergarten starting this fall. It is truly a family business and Mrs. Sonya treats our girls like they are part of her family. We have no hesitation in recommending Mrs. Sonya and her team for your childcare needs.
Update 3/16/24: My family has been going to Mrs Sonya's for almost 7 years between my two children. I have nothing but great things to say about the business that Mrs. Sonya runs. My children have thrived being with her and her staff. The incident that occurred with the parking situation and lead to someone pulling their child is unfortunate, however the lady was in the wrong for asking the mom who had her 2 children already out of the car to move. Mrs. Sonya handled the situation in a very professional and respectful way. We have been going to Mrs. Sonya's for a long time and I have never seen a altercation like that occur before. Mrs. Sonya provides a great place for children to learn and grow.
