We love the JCCNS! The JCC is play based, multi age classroom, parent run, with flex scheduling. The main things that where very important to us. Growing up in a multi faith home I was also excited for my kids to learn about the Jewish faith, just as I did as a kid. While many of the students are typically not Jewish, I think it is fantastic they are exposed to different faiths and cultures. We found the JCC when we had recently moved to the area without family around. The teachers and other parents had quickly become our family, and helped the transition to our new town so much easier on our family. We are excited to be sending our youngest daughter next year. Highly recommend the JCC!

The JCC is what a preschool should be. The teachers are both compassionate and skilled. The curriculum is play-based, which means that kids are learning through hands-on activities rather than by doing worksheets. The mixed-age classroom gives younger kids an opportunity to learn from their older friends, and allows the older kids a chance to lead and to learn how to deal compassionately with children who are younger or less skilled than they are. If you're wondering if a play-based environment will prepare your child for kindergarten, the answer is "YES!" Kids emerge from the JCC not only knowing their letters and numbers (skills which will be endlessly re-taught in kindergarten), but also knowing the skills kindergarten teachers really want to see: the ability to follow directions from an adult, to interact nicely with their peers, and to take pleasure in learning.
