My children have attended KLC since they were newborns. They were full time until PreK4 and now part time as afterschool pickups. We have been a part of the KLC family for approximately 10 years and are so grateful for the care and attention Ms. Aurora and her staff have had with our boys. Some of these ladies are like family to us, as they have helped to raise and care for our children throughout the years. We are blessed to have KLC Super kids!

Last year, on May 1st, 2024, I sent my 1½-year-old son to Kids Learning Center, as I had been doing since December 2023. I am a working mom and decided on this center for childcare. That evening when I picked him up, he was having dinner and playing with a harmonica. He mentioned it hurt, but I initially thought it was related to the toy.
Later that night, while showering him, I noticed his nails were very short, and the skin around the nail beds was red. I immediately called my husband to ask if he remembered the last time I had filed them (I have never used a nail clipper because I’m always worried about cutting him too short). He didn’t recall, and I was 36 weeks pregnant (pregnancy brain). I went to sleep, but the next morning, I saw the redness around his nails was still there and more noticeable. That’s when I realized that someone had cut his nails, and it hadn’t been me.
I was very upset and contacted the director/owner immediately. The teacher, Ms. May, admitted she had cut my son's nails to prevent a scratching incident. Everyone who knows my son knows he’s very sweet and doesn't bite or scratch. It’s hard to imagine him sitting still while someone cut his nails without his or my consent.
The director held a "meeting" for Ms. May and I. But she never addressed the situation with me in person. I went to the center to express my concerns directly to the staff. The explanation I received from Ms. May was that she wanted to prevent an accident, which I found unacceptable. I asked how many other things she was doing that she wasn’t supposed to. As you can see by the picture where he is holding his gerber his nails were not long. Who knows if that nail clipper was clean. Even though she stayed “they” had proper cleaning supplies to clean a clipper that isn’t allowed. Ms. May told me that every morning, she checked the children's nails and would cut them. I made it clear that I didn’t want Ms. May to be near my son again. I removed my son during my maternity leave but decided to send him back in July, as he seemed happy otherwise. I was told Ms. May had been "reprimanded," and I believed that would be the end of it.
In December, I spoke to the director about my discomfort with Ms. May still working there. I shared that I didn’t want her in contact with my child. The director assured me that Ms. May was not in my son’s class. I didn’t want to switch him out because he had made friends, and I didn’t think it would be fair to him.
Today, when I went to pick up my son, I realized he was in the class under the care of Ms. May—the teacher who physically hurt him. I expressed my anger and immediately asked for my children's belongings. The director didn’t offer an apology or explanation. While I understand that an apology might not change anything, it’s the basic courtesy I expect.
I feel betrayed and upset that Ms. May, who hurt my son and admitted to it, is still working with children at the center. I trusted the issue would be handled properly, but it clearly wasn’t. This is an important matter to me, and I’m sharing this as a warning for other parents. Maybe I should have removed him initially, but at that time, I didn’t have other childcare options.
Some might think I'm overreacting, but this is a big deal. Ms. May physically hurt my child, and he couldn’t use his fingers properly because it caused him pain. This happened at Kids Learning Center in Edinburg, Tx.

WARNING!!!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!!!! Horrific!!!! Look up their violations and list of deficiencies at Texas protective services. This will give you a small glimpse into the type of hidden, dangerous events that occur there. They hire people without background checks or the proper training. They sub in people to “fill in” when someone is out of town and you have no clue who they are. Mysteriously children seem to “hurt themselves” repeatedly, come home with bruises, red marks on their face and heads, and more! Children have even been hospitalized due to disgustingly poor hygiene and worse! The “director” gets upset when you question what is going on in the facility and if you ask for video she lies and says they don’t have them and are “too expensive to install”. This place should be shut down!
Reach out to me directly and I will gladly share my full story and other people’s stories that have contacted me through Facebook. Keep your children safe and stay clear of KLC and Aurora.

My daughter just completed the kindergarten program at KLC with Mrs. García and we are very pleased with the knowledge and skills my daughter gained while at KLC. On their last week of school I decided to test my daughter at sylvan learning center in McAllen, Tx. to see what level she was at and she scored 1.3 which means, She's reading and writing at 1st grade, 3 months level, praise God 🎉
Thank you KLC for doing an AMAZING job!!👩🏻🎓 shes ready to start the 1st grade 😃
