We love KidsCentre! We have two boys (almost 2 and 4) that have both been there since around 6 months old, and we have had such a wonderful experience. The teachers are fantastic - they really are so loving, thoughtful, and fun with kids. Other highlights include:
- The kids get a ton of outdoor time - mostly at the big playground overlooking the waterfront, but also on walks and field trips around the city (for the older one)
- Lunch and morning/afternoon snacks included.
- Weekly music class with Mr Matt!
- Weekly soccer with Little Kickers
- Very convenient working down town
Overall, can’t say enough great things about KidsCentre!

My two children attend KidsCentre Spring Street and both have attended since they were in the infant room at 6-7 months old. We have had a wonderful experience with both children thanks to the caring and skilled teachers and staff.
Other things we love about KC:
1) All classes spend a fair amount of time outside every day (unless there’s extreme weather) - and our kids love to play on the playground overlooking Elliot Bay and go for walks (on the rope) with their class to watch the ferries, the fire trucks, and all of the waterfront action
2) The toddlers and pre-k go on a field trip every week! Locations include the aquarium, Pike Place Market, the fire station, the library, Volunteer Park, and the water taxi to West Seattle. This is always our older child’s favorite day and it’s amazing how much it has fostered a sense of independence and curiosity about our community.
3) KidsCentre provides pretty much everything - diapers, wipes, and all meals. Both of our kids have food allergies and KC is accommodating and provides alternative options when needed (which we found was not the case at most other child care centers we toured)
4) The teachers foster a sense of routine so that the children know roughly how the day will flow every day, which has created confidence and a sense of calm with our kids.
But most importantly, our kids feel safe, loved, and intellectually stimulated at KidsCentre and we would highly recommend!

We absolutely love KidsCentre! Our daughter has been at KidsCentre since she was 6 months old, and she is now in Preschool. The teachers are wonderful. We know our daughter is loved and well cared for when she is at school. She goes to school readily and comes home happy, talking about what she learned and who she played with. The location is fantastic. The outdoor play area overlooks the water, and the children can see the ferries coming in. KidsCentre takes advantage of its location by taking children on waterfront walks, and when they get older to Pike Place Market, the Aquarium, the Water Taxi and more. We highly recommend this very special place!

We have loved KidsCentre and the infant room, where my son has gone since he was 4 months old. All of the teachers are so wonderful and really caring, and they helped me feel comfortable sending my baby to daycare while I'm at work. We're relocating so he won't be joining the Waddler room when he turns 1, but I couldn't have asked for a better childcare center for my son's first year. They really set a high bar for future care!

Cons:
- Consistent staff turnover
- Staff lack creativity to handle challenges
- Lack of leadership in the upper management team
- Expensive
- Small indoor space with multiple classrooms
- No attached playground. Instead it’s across a busy downtown intersection that the kids have to walk through.
- Generally the area can be unsafe at times. There was stabbing-police shooting incident that happened July 2023 morning hours down the street. I’ve also seen a few homeless and drugged up people by the front door during afternoon pick. up.
Overall we had a negative experience with KidsCentre. Unfortunately, the directors and staff were unable to provide the care and program needed for our child to flourish. It was a constant challenge communicating with their team, and often times the burden was relayed back to us as the parents instead of implementing simple solutions.
If you’re considering this or any daycare, I urge all parents to double check Washington Child Care Check that allows you to pull up any prior complaints, license history, inspections, etc.
