Kidsland Berkeley Day Care

We absolutely love Kidsland Berkeley on Haskell! My now 3-year old has been attending since he was 15 months old and we are planning to send my newborn there soon as well. Laura and Tey are the perfect mix of loving/nurturing, structured/disciplined, and adventurous/fun. The kids all listen well, eat well, sleep well, play nicely with each other, and clean up after themselves. They also have a ton of fun - they do many trips and activities including gymnastics and martial arts every week, field trips to the beach and museums, music in the park, etc. My son comes home happy each day, he loves talking about Laura and Tey and all of his amigos and activities. I really appreciate what Laura and Tey have created and am so grateful for the care, support, community, and enrichment they provide. And I love that my son is fluent in Spanish - he is now teaching us!

Kidsland Berkeley on Haskell is a godsend. The staff is spectacular. This place is special and unlike other daycares in that they’ll sincerely treat your entire family like their own. Your child will learn Spanish because the staff speaks amazing Spanish. Our experience was that all the kids learned and spoke Spanish. They will treat your child like their family. Kidsland on Haskell takes their kids on outings to parks, lakes, concerts, museums and even takes them on professionally managed swim lessons during the summer. It’s a magical place. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We feel so lucky to have found Kidsland. Much more than childcare, Kidsland is a warm and welcoming community. They do an incredible job of fostering an environment where the kids seem to really care about each other and the caregivers. Our child loves going there (she asks if she can go sometimes on the weekend!) and always talks about her “niños” and Laura, Tey, and they other caregivers. We love the focus they put on play, as well as independence (whether encouraging the kids to put their own shoes on, pick up after themselves, or carry their own backpacks). And of course we love the Spanish immersion (our child’s Spanish has grown tremendously since starting). Laura and Tey are such an amazing balance of organized and professional, while still flexible and warm — really putting the “home” in “home-based care.”

We’ve been a Kidsland family since our son was two. We picked the day care because we wanted something close to us and we wanted something fully in Spanish. While that is what we were looking for, Kidsland offered so much more. Mara and Tay take the kids on so many educational field trips, they work with them on lots of educational activities from learning letters to working on motor skills, and they are always working with the kids on building independence. Beyond these things, Mara and Tey are so kind and the kids love them. When my mom was visiting the first thing my son did was grab his grandma’s hand and march her over to the teachers so she could meet them. 10 out of 10 would recommended!
