La Petite Academy of West Ashley

There were a few teachers/staff that were amazing & loved my child like their own. For that, it gets 3 stars when it would have been lower. If I could just rate those few individuals , it would be 5 stars. However, Staffing itself maintained a consistent issue. It affected availability of childcare-random closures, indefinite closure of my oldest child’s class, and increased financial costs for said closures/double childcare expenses or major work inconveniences when scrambling to find care. In addition-the staff were overwhelmed & affected my child’s safety. Multiple times over a short time span, my child was bitten. I understand biting happens, but it’s how it was handled that’s my issue. He was being bounced from room to room throughout the day. Bites were identified at home and would then get an after the fact incident report when I brought it up. Similar issues also affected my other child during his time there. Mgmt did not work hard at resolving the biting issues. Always got some excuse, but never a plan to fix the problem.

My kid went there 2 years ago. It was like a traumatic experience for my 14 months old. We reminded those days, and our loving kid was tremendously ill-treated continuously for 3 weeks. Finally we have to take her out immediately. Not recommended for kids. Not a safe place too. That’s why they always have open spot.

My daughter has been at La Petite right under two years now. She's been through the infant room, the creeper room, and the toddler room. Every single lady in all of these rooms have adored and loved my daughter as if she were their own. When she is dropped off in the morning I know she's in good hands and safe. The educational activities in the creeper room are fantastic!! The toddler room has wonderful songs with movements. I can tell because when I try to introduce a song at home she already knows it!! The staff: teachers and administrators are so very personable and truly care. I wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else in West Ashley. :)

I moved to SC from Kentucky with no idea about schools. I did as much research as possible and ended up here at La Petite. The director at this location was always involved and ready to help. My child enjoyed this school and the teachers were always involved. I never caught one of them texting on personal phones or having side conversations with other staff. I can honestly say each member was fully involved with each child through the day. This was also my child first daycare and as a first time mom I was extremely picky and this school lived up to my picky expectations and beyond. Thank you to everyone at La Petite. Peace of mind while your child is at daycare is truly priceless.

My daughter was fortunate to have been enrolled at La Petite on Ashley River Road. She grew and learned so much during her time there. Everyone - from the director, to administrators, to each and every staff member - clearly cares a great deal about the children there, and takes great pride in teaching and loving them. I highly recommend the La Petite on Ashley River Road for any childcare needs. We will miss them!
