Our experience with La Petite has been absolutely wonderful! We truly echo our children’s love for the staff—they are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about the kids. It’s clear how much effort they put into creating a nurturing and fun environment where children can grow and thrive. We feel incredibly grateful for the positive impact they’ve had on our little ones and would wholeheartedly recommend this La Petite to anyone looking for exceptional childcare.

This school doesn’t vet their teachers and had a known repeat abuser in the infant class for months. The center did not take the reports seriously. One infant had surgery to repair injury, that was the severity. When investigated, the footage wont be kept so just know the video surveillance is a facade when it’s time to review it, when you need something specific, the footage will disappear. Proceed with extreme caution and do not use this center - exhaust all options before using this location. Your child’s safety is at risk.

The influx of good reviews are because they offered free tuition!! This facility only cares about money, luckily they have cameras because I witnessed my daughter be left outside her classroom. In the same day she also fell off a chair and chipped her tooth, this is not the only child who I know of that has broken teeth while under their care. On multiple occasions she’s come home with bite marks, I don’t send my child to school to get bullied especially at 2 years old. My daughter was also given another child’s blanket and sheets for nap time on more than one occasion which I did point out to them. I had to start sending a customized blanket with her name printed all over it to ensure she receives the right set. There is a very high teacher turnover, she only attended for about 8 months and went through 5 or 6 different teachers. In our initial interview they said they help potty train which is false, we potty trained my daughter and she has no accidents at home. They can’t be bothered to remind the kids to use the restroom and she has an accident every other day there. We used one of our vacation weeks which is half price tuition and were mistakenly billed the full price which I did not pay and was charged a late fee of $30. Once the amount was corrected they did not remove the late fee even though it was their fault for charging the wrong amount. Overall I do not feel comfortable sending my daughter here they only care about money and not the well being of the children. Look elsewhere for childcare.

Saw a review about raffling for reviews so I wanted to give my long overdue review. Many places offer raffles for reviews, so this is not a case of bribery but rather a common practice. My son has been attending this school since he was 9 months old, and he’s now 3. I love the staff and the community of parents here. They offer a variety of extracurricular activities that are enriching for both babies and toddlers. The daycare frequently invites parents to come and participate in activities with their children, and I genuinely believe they prioritize safety above all else. Parents night out is always a joy and the holidays are always filled with activities.
I trust this daycare. Have they experienced issues with class closures? Yes, but it’s not a consistent problem. Like any business, they face challenges such as staff callouts and illnesses, but they manage it well. Overall, I am very satisfied with this daycare.

WARNING!!! Please look up the news article about what happened at this daycare facility.
There was a serious incident at La Petite Academy on Plantation Lakes Circle in Chesapeake, Virginia. In November 2024, a 19-year-old employee, Carolyn Tinkey, was charged with multiple offenses, including child abuse, cruelty, neglect, and assault and battery, after a 4-month-old infant sustained severe injuries during a diaper change. The injuries were significant enough to require surgical intervention.
