I was surprised to see the negative reviews of the Lally Center (and wonder if the reviewers are referring to other facilities and not Lally specifically) and want to share my family's unbelievably positive experience. My children have been a part of the Lally community for years now and I feel so fortunate to have become a part of their family. I have never met a more caring group of people. They go above and beyond to make sure kids are well cared for, are learning and have fun. My kids love going there and I feel comfortable knowing they are in a great environment. The director Beth is a phenomenal leader who handles difficult situations in a calm and effective manner and along with Colleen and the rest of the staff has created an incredibly supportive place for kids to learn and grow. I recommend that anyone who not only wants their kids to be safe and learn, but to truly have an enriching experience, go to Lally. We are very fortunate to have the Lally Center in our community.

My son attended Lally for 2 years and had a very positive experience - so much that we decided to place our new baby in the infant room. I just happened to search the center to get the phone number and was surprised to see the poor reviews, giving the center a low rating, and felt compelled to share our experience. It seems the other reviewers are residents in the neighborhood who would rather not have the center near their home. Personally, I would never want to live near a daycare either - there's lots of traffic outside Lally during drop off and pick up times. I can't fault them for their opinions but they in no way reflect the level of care children will receive here. We have not experienced issues with absent or lazy staff on the playground - we've only witnessed caring employees and a center that continuously makes improvements in their facility and classrooms.
The Director and Staff pride themselves on having a family atmosphere at the center. Your children will be thoroughly cared for and well prepared to enter school. Communication is important at the center. Anytime I had concerns, I felt comfortable in voicing them to the Director - she not only listened but took steps to make improvements when necessary. During the 2 years we've had children here I always feel like I could easily approach the Director and discuss anything. And the communication went both ways- parents are sent information daily to email and information is regularly communicated between teachers and parents. Classrooms recently started using iPads and the Tadpole App to send pictures and updates to your email daily. Nothing brightens my day more than knowing that my children are enjoying their time.
An added bonus to all of the above: Their prices are affordable. I'd never sacrifice level of care for cost savings but at the Lally Center you find positives in both areas.

While there are some wonderful teachers here, or at least, there were when my daughter was here last, the administration/Director is absolutely horrific. In addition, I highly suggest going at a time when they don’t expect you to come, because you will see a totally different atmosphere. I went late one day to drop off my daughter because I was going in later to work, only to find a strange man in the toddler room, bouncing the kids up and down on his lap, while the teachers stood in the corner and chatted. The room was chaos, kids running everywhere, and I had no idea who that man was. When I questioned it, they told me if I didn’t like the program I could take my daughter out, and they told me he was the man who delivered the lunches, and that it was fine. No, it wasn’t fine! Seriously?! in another instance I came in in the morning to drop my daughter off, and as I was putting her pumped breastmilk in the refrigerator, I looked and saw there was a toaster, literally sitting in the sink, and the toaster was plugged in!! Literally, this is a room full of two-year-olds, and when I complained about this, the administration acted like I was the one with the problem! I would not send your children here, there are far better options

I am so happy my husband and I decided to send our son to Lally.
He entered as a shy two-year-old who was very hesitant to open up to other children. He has made friends, learned good habits, and displayed an improvement in his speech. He loves his classroom, and his teachers.
On top of all that, the center was active and responsive when we decided to attain professional assessment of his needs so he could receive early intervention treatment, if deemed necessary. They are attentive to his dietary restriction and have, honestly, exceeded my expectations. One of the reasons I'm hesitant to leave Scotia, is that I fear I won't find this experience replicated elsewhere.
