We have had such a positive experience with MDS over the last year. The teachers love and care for the kids as if they are their own. They go above and beyond for holidays and art projects. My son (who is shy) has blossomed while being there. The only reason we are leaving is because we are moving 30 minutes away. I wish I could take them all with us. Highly recommend MDS to all in the Alexandria area!!

I highly recommend Madison Day at Henry Street in Old Town. My son has attended there for almost 1 year and progressed from the infant classroom to the toddler room. The infant room providers were so kind and caring with him and greatly helped him in his journey to eat solids. They also helped to get him on a consistent nap schedule. In the toddler room, he is always so happy to get there and jump into the activities.

My daughter was at Madison until she was 3 and had an incredible experience. We just moved out of the area so sadly had to say goodbye to the school, and that was one of the hardest goodbyes we made. She flourished at MDS thanks to the incredible teachers and staff. Teachers were so creative with activities and there was lots of outdoor time. I would highly recommend MDS to anyone looking for an incredible daycare/ early childhood education experience for their child or children.

Our daughter attended Madison Day School on North Henry for almost two years, and we loved it! My daughter still talks about her teachers. The only reason that we left was because we moved abroad. She went through the infant, toddler, and junior preschool classes. The teachers in each class were caring and compassionate, and I always felt that they really wanted to see our daughter thrive in her learning and growing. They even were a huge reason why my daughter got potty trained when she did! Even after my daughter left one class, the teachers from the old classes still talked to her and asked how she was doing. Once covid cases weren’t as prevalent they started having family events, always well planned and fun. The director was also very responsive and kind, and I knew she'd answer any questions I had and was always helpful. The only negative aspect is that the neighborhood a few blocks away had some crime within the last couple of months we were there. But that wasn't a reflection of the school, and they informed parents of the incidents, and I know that the school was in talks with parents and the police department about improved safety measures. We moved away before anything was solidified, so I can't speak to what was implemented. Regardless, we still loved Madison Day and were sad to leave. We would absolutely send our daughter there again if we move back to the area.

Choosing a daycare for you baby is incredibly hard. And it's something I agonized over. We had such a lovely experience with Madison. Or baby started at 12 weeks and the infant teachers were beyond incredible - they loved him and cared for him so well. And he loved being at the school. As hard as it was to drop him off that first day, it's been just as hard to say goodbye. And we feel so lucky to have had the experience we did. The curriculum was well planned and they do so many engaging, fun activities with the kids. I loved seeing the daily reports of what they learned and read in circle time. And the art projects were adorable.
