Manitas Spanish Immersion Preschool and Childcare

My son has been going to Manitas for the past year. This is a family-run business and accommodating with part-time and drop-in care. Lunch is provided, which is very helpful if you have a picky eater like I do. The teachers -- Karina, Jacqueline, and Marí -- are wonderful, patient, caring, and attentive. They take the kids on outings to the park, read and sing with them, and make cute art projects to celebrate holidays. I think all their love is evident in how kind and helpful the children are with each other. The fact that it's Spanish immersion is a huge bonus, of course, but what truly sets this daycare apart are the teachers and their genuine love for children. Manitas is a gem!

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Manitas. Karina, Jacqueline and Mari are wonderful teachers and caregivers. They provide exceptional care and wonderful learning environment for our preschooler as well as an after school space for our elementary school child. And all in Spanish! They are warm, friendly, highly capable and incredibly generous with their time. There is no place like Manitas and we highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a Spanish immersion, home based preschool.

Highly recommend. Our experience with Karina has been outstanding. We sent our youngest child here for his final year of preschool and we wish we would have sent him sooner. The staff is nuturing, kind, and patient. They focus on social/emotional as well as teaching Spanish curriculum though language immersion. My children attend McKinley Elementary where there is a thriving Dual Language Program. They successfully prepared him for the assessment to test directly into the program and avoid the very competitive lottery system. Manitas holds a special place in our family's heart and we continue to work with them utilizing the after care where they provide homework help and spanish skill development.

The absolute best preschool you will find. We have 3 kids in burlingame school district. Our two oldest children attended a couple of other immersion preschools in the area before we luckily found Manitas. Manitas teachers are kind, caring, tremendously trustworthy, flexible, hard working and do an excellent job. All three of our kids absolutely love the teachers they have had and still want to go to the after school program even though they attend elementary now. This is a wonderful immersion preschool. If you want your child to speak Spanish, and if you want your child to test into the bilingual programs in the area (Burlingame, San Mateo) you should absolutely send them to Manitas. All three of our kids tested as native Spanish speakers (only English spoken at home). If they have an opening youd be silly to pass it up. Truly a second family for our kids!
