When we moved to Bismarck, we were so pleased to find a classical Christian school. The academic program at ML is excellent -- deeply engaging, thorough when it comes to all the basics, and with a strong emphasis on reading and discussion. My daughter's favorite subject since starting at ML is Latin. The teachers and principal are fantastic -- very welcoming, attentive and fun. The classroom size is about ten to twelve students to a grade, and the students really take care of each other. We're very grateful to be part of this community!

We LOVE Martin Luther School! I never wanted to send my kids to a public school. I was home schooling until the opportunity arose for me to send my daughter here. Walking in the building felt like bringing my kids to Sunday School. It is so warm and homey. I smelt cinnamon candles or something my first visit walking in rather than that sterile school smell. I immediately had great peace about the school. 3 years later, my daughter's class is the biggest at 15 kids, which we love. She has thrived here academically. I don't know of any student who is doing poorly. The students are well behaved and the parents are friends! I LOVE that everything can be approached through the lens of scripture; student behavior, moral excellence, striving to do our best, academics, serving others, praying for each other, etc. The staff is so warm and approachable. Good dress code, clean, very helpful, extra curriculars, highly recommended.

We’ve had a great experience so far with MLS school systems, both the PreK program and elementary program. We love the small classroom sizes and individual attention our kids receive as well as the classical education model they are receiving (focus on grammar, logic, and rhetoric.) We use the before and after school care programs daily!

Our experience with Martin Luther School has been nothing short of amazing. The school’s commitment to a Lutheran classical education is evident in its rigorous academics, emphasis on critical thinking, and dedication to a Christ-centered approach to learning. Students are immersed in a curriculum that fosters a deep understanding of literature, history, mathematics, and the arts, all while being rooted in biblical truth and the rich traditions of the Lutheran faith. What truly sets MLS apart, however, is its focus on relationships. The teachers and staff genuinely care about each student. The small class sizes create an environment where students feel valued and heard, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Additionally, the school actively builds a strong community by involving families in the educational process. Parents are welcomed as partners, and communication between home and school is open, thoughtful, and intentional. Whether through parent-teacher meetings, family events, chapel services, or volunteer opportunities, there is a strong sense of collaboration and shared purpose. If you are looking for a school that upholds academic excellence within a Christ-centered, classical framework while nurturing meaningful relationships, MLS is an outstanding choice. It is a place where students not only grow intellectually but also develop strong character and faith, preparing them to thrive in all areas of life.

I stumbled on to this classical education model in the Bismarck/Mandan area at just the right time! After my older sons' terrible experiences with fighting and low performance at Simle Middle School, I was desperate to find a SAFIER middle school experience for my third son. Lucky for me this school had just extended their grades from K through 8 grade. I enrolled my student in 6th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. The tuition is affordable, with scholarship options available for those who are eligible. The student to teacher ratio is low which helped my son excel in the classroom. The administration and teaching staff work diligently to facilitate a respectful, safe, and engaging learning experience that only wets the appetite for more unique middle school experiences. Mrs. Quirk does an amazing job at bridging the gap between elementary to middle school for her 6th grade students! She brings in plenty of hands on activities into her lessons and she redirects the boys' energy beautifully! The school work is challenging. But the memory and recitation strategies they use are the game changers to building up their comprehension, precept upon precept. When my son was struggling with learning Latin, Mrs. Quirk went above and beyond in staying after school to help him study. My son enjoys his work and his classmates! After 6 months, my son went from a earning A's and B's to straight A's! Martin Luther School feels safe where students are valued and Christ is celebrated! The building is locked during the school day with entrance to only those approved via intercom. The halls are active but calm. The students vary in personality and interests; but they all work well together-- no fighting or bullying! When conflicts do come up, Principal Wolfgram lovingly leads students toward reconciliation. Gentle, honest communication and recognition that all need second chances-- grace and unity in Christ is paramount at Martin Luther School. THIS kind of school spirit is celebrated at school prep rallies, class service projects, hobby club activities, and student fellowship events! You don't have to be Lutheran to attend Martin Luther School either. At Martin Luther School students diverse both in culture and interests are encouraged to apply because their unique gifts contribute to a middle school experience of its very own! My son loves this school and we are looking forward the 2025-2026 school year. We hope to see more new faces this fall!
