Morningside School

Morningside has been family for us since my daughter began preschool there seven years ago at age two. We subsequently sent both our boys there for preschool and numerous summer camps. Sadie and Katie have counseled us, as parents, through ups and downs and truly love and care about our three kiddos. The play based curriculum was beautiful for their growing minds, and we loved watching the kids’ interests direct the direction of a particular season of engagement. We were particularly happy with the amount of time spent exploring and learning about the outdoor environment. I have, and continue to, recommend Morningside to Carrboro/Chapel Hill parents.

Our youngest son went to The Morningside School for three years. We were always amazed by what he came home with in conversation and on paper. Sadie and the rest of the Morningside Team were always informative, engaging and willing to push him in ways that remain amazing.

I can’t recommend this preschool highly enough. Sadie has created an amazing wonderland for kids to grow, explore and build community together. The years my children went to Morningside were so precious, we consider it the one parenting decision we totally got right.

At first, I was interested in Morningside because it's close to my home. Then, I realized, after our first visit, this school would be worth a long daily drive. The teaching staff and guiding principles treat students like whole people and there seems always to be time for learning moments--both socially and "academically." Within the routines of the school, the students lead and the teachers facilitate, which helps kids come into their own, realizing their own values, yes, but also the value of others and their relationships with them. I cannot say enough about this place. As my husband always says, "It's all downhill from Morningside, so soak it up while you can!" Also, of note, the facility is amazing, filled with interesting nooks and crannies, experiences and opportunities to explore and all at just the right scale, both inside and out.

The moment we walked up the driveway, we knew we were in the right place. Sadie has created a kid's dream play space, with teachers that are sensitive to each child and makes space for them to feel safe and loved.
