My Second Home Daycare

My 19 month old daughter was dropped by this daycare after 3 weeks because they essentially said that she required more care than they could provide her. She had an allergic reaction to antibiotics her doctor gave her for an ear infection. The antibiotics ended up killing her good bacteria and gave her a yeast infection. The daycare felt that applying the yeast infection cream was too much. They knew I was a single mom and I tried to keep her home as much as I could so that they wouldn't have to deal with the extra diaper changes. They would make comments about she would cry during nap, but didn't give her a chance to get adjusted to the new environment. I would give it zero stars, but their son Hector made it easy to communicate and so that was helpful. Even the son was surprised that his mom, Blanca, didn't want my daughter at the daycare anymore. I wish I knew why they didn't want to watch my daughter anymore. It felt like horrible rejection for a little baby that was just trying to recover from a bad diaper rash. Beyond disappointed and wanting to share so others know that they don't even try to help your kid adjust to the new environment.

We feel so fortunate to have found this daycare and the two incredible caregivers, Blanca and Chelo. They are the heart and soul of this place — truly hard-working, loving, and completely dedicated to the kids in their care. Our 4 year old son has been going here for nearly 3 years and he absolutely loves it. He comes home full of stories about what he learned and who he played with. The growth we’ve seen in him — socially, emotionally, and even academically — has been amazing, and so much of that is thanks to the intentional, thoughtful environment Blanca and Chelo create. This isn’t just a place where kids are watched— it’s a place where they are cared for, taught, and loved. The level of involvement Blanca and Chelo have with each child is truly special. They manage a room full of little ones with such calm, patience, and joy, and it’s clear they treat every child as if they were their own. Our other daughter also attended this daycare before our son and had a similarly wonderful experience. The consistency and care over the years have been unmatched. Blanca and Chelo also go out of their way to make holidays feel magical. Whether it’s Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or Mother/Father’s Day, they go above and beyond to create special memories not just for the kids, but for the parents too. The crafts, the decorations, the little celebrations— they always make it feel festive, thoughtful, and full of heart! It’s worth noting that the one negative review on Yelp does not reflect the reality of what we’ve experienced day in and day out for years. Anyone who has spent time at this daycare knows how much love, structure, and effort go into making it a warm and welcoming space for the kids. This daycare has been such a special part of our family’s life. We trust Blanca and Chelo completely and we’re so grateful for the care they’ve given our children. We would highly recommend this place to any family looking for a loving, safe, and enriching environment for their child.

My son has been going to My Second Home Daycare for a few months now and I wish we had found them sooner! Blanca and her assistant (please forgive me I am bad with names!) are SO pleasant and it really warms my heart to know that my son is in the best care while my husband and I are at work. They genuinely care about the well-being of the children there and help with advancing the children. My son just turned two in October 2022 and he wasn’t a fan of going to daycare until he started going here. He used to cry daily when I would drop him off, but now he walks right in as if he owns the place and gets to playing with the other children or reaches out to be held by Blanca. I love the fact that they give a daily report that goes home - tells you what type of mood your child was in that day, how many times they had a wet diaper or a BM, what they ate, what is needed such as more pampers or clothes etc. I also love that they keep everything clean inside and out! I say that I wish we had found them sooner because we are going to be moving in a couple of weeks and we are really going to miss everyone at My Second Home Daycare :( It’s been such a pleasure and I wish nothing but the best! Our daughter attended My Second Home Daycare for about 3-4 years before starting pre-k. We lived very close to Blanca so it was very convenient for us and we couldn't be happier with Blanca. She is AMAZING! Whenever we had issues with our daughter such as giving her medication or eating her veggie's, we would tell Blanca our situation and she got our daughter to take her medicine and eat ALL her vegetables. She really is like a second mom that you can count on. Our daughter was potty trained by 2.5 years old because of Blanca! And the amount of time she spent reading and writing with the kids was amazing. When our daughter started school, she was way ahead of the other kids. We love and appreciate Blanca so much!
