Nelda's In Home Daycare - Longmont/Boulder

I would recommend Nelda’s Daycare to other parents because Nelda is a great caregiver who has a lot of training and experience, she loves the kids at her daycare and teaches them what they need to know before going to preschool. We first took our daughter to Nelda’s Daycare when she was 3 months old. She had some health issues early on in her life so it was not easy to find someone we felt we could trust to watch over her as carefully as we would. After a short period of time we felt confident that Nelda would do her very best to make sure our daughter was healthy and safe while we could not be with her. Nelda has a lot of experience and training working with children and always had helpful information to pass along as we were learning all we could as new parents. Nelda communicated anything she thought we could work on with our daughter to help in her development. Our daughter was at Nelda’s Daycare until she was 3 years old. Our daughter loved Nelda and Nelda loved our daughter. In the time she was there she learned so much. Nelda and her employees worked with the kids to learn the alphabet, numbers, counting, shapes, drawing, reading books, puzzles, songs, Spanish, physical abilities like balance and coordination, and prayers! With this being a small in-home day care, it was easy to get to know Nelda along with the other parents and kids there. Our daughter made a lot of friends and was happy there. Taking our daughter to Nelda’s Daycare was a great experience for her.

Nelda is like having a family member watch your child. Living out-of-state from family, Nelda helped me raise my son who started being cared for by Nelda when he was one and still visits intermittently on preschool breaks. She helped diagnose the various things that arise with having your first child. She's affectionate and gives young children the hugs, kind words, and safety they so greatly need. And she is so flexible and helpful! From flexible schedules to varying payment schedules, Nelda goes above and beyond to work with each family. My son often tells me how much he loves Nelda and how he wants to go visit. I highly recommend having Nelda in your lives!

Our son has been with Nelda since he was 3 months old (he is now 28 months). We have been very pleased with the "Nelda Experience". Nelda treats our son like one of her own and he loves spending time at the daycare. Nelda also has supported our needs after hours, watching our son for overnights/babysitting. The social environment, and the interaction with kids who range in age from infant to 4 years old, has been a real benefit to our son and he enjoys playing with all of his friends. We highly recommend Nelda!

My son started with Nelda as a infant and is almost 3 years old. When it was time to go back to work after an extended maternity leave, the process of finding a quality daycare provider that was willing to be flexible with my work schedule proved to be a challenge. Thankfully, I found Nelda's Daycare. She welcomed Liam with open arms,compassion and most of all LOVE ! I have thoroughly enjoyed the care he receives. I was thrilled with using a home daycare provider versus a " daycare school" because I wanted my son to have dedicated attention in a homelike environment. Because my closest family lives in Ohio, Nelda has fallen into the role of "grandma" to my son. She is like family to me, as well. She is willing to work with parents and is very honest when it comes to how your child is doing on a day-to-day basis. With her 20+ years experience, I have come to value her opinion and suggestions. My child has learned everything from ABC's, numbers, colors and shape recognition as well as becoming potty training while in her care.The daycare is always kept clean and tidy with lots of educational toys and games to keep growing children happy. Nelda makes sure the children have sunscreen applied before playing outdoors each day. She prepares homemade meals daily for the children and is also happy to feed a snack or meal that you provide. I feel 100% confident every time I leave my son in her hands. I could not have asked for a more caring and dedicated person to provide for my son while I am at work for long hours. If you're looking for a clean, safe, loving provider this is the place to go. Liam and I will be sad to leave when it is time to move on to preschool. Nelda is one of a kind and highly recommended!

Nelda is wonderful! We have spend much time and energy in finding a daycare provider that could give our two little ones an environment that was both caring and very structured. Nelda provides all of that and more. She has high expectations of the children with regards to their behavior, but is also very loving and understanding toward them. We are so lucky to have found her!!
