Woman literally broke her nail to just make sure my child’s car seat was installed correctly. They do such great things here what they offer parents. Thankful for peers their diaper bank and their daycare services offered one day a week allowing parents breaks along with courses to help parents continue to learn.

I went to drop off paperwork for my almost 3 year old for the childcare they offer. I brought up that she use to go to a “parents morning out” at a local church once a week, which is a low cost “daycare” for a few hours a week and that they don’t have it during the summer time, hence why I was there for her. The girl that was helping me said that my daughter doesn’t qualify then since she’s already enrolled in a program. I explained that she’s not enrolled in anything right now since they don’t have it in the summer, but she said since she’s been enrolled in a different program before that she isn’t eligible. Which doesn’t make since because what if I can’t afford it anymore and I don’t even have the option for it anyways the lasts 2 months? She then said that “this is for moms that don’t get a break,” which really struck a cord with me since I also have a 5 month old and my husband has been gone in another state for training since May. I get it if she doesn’t technically qualify for the childcare, but that comment upset me. I’ve been really struggling taking care of them 2 alone and it’s difficult for me to ask for help, and then when I finally try to seek the resources in the community, the response is apparently I don’t deserve it. I was also there on the diaper Wednesday pick up and I didn’t even bother to ask about that since it made me feel upset.
