Play Matters Preschool

This is the most beautiful outdoor space - all three of my kiddos have come through Naomi’s and it has been absolutely magical. My kids enjoy the space to choose their own play, get dirty, and explore new sensory experiences. Naomi also fosters such an incredible community for the parents and families of her kids, it truly feels like home. I can’t recommend Play Matters enough to anyone who wants free & beautiful natural play space for their kids and a bonus community of like-minded families.

We’re so happy to have found Play Matters Preschool in Sacramento! It’s a fully outdoor, play-based preschool where kids get to explore, imagine, and connect with nature every day. Even though we’ve only just started, our 2-year-old already looks forward to going. The teacher, Naomi, is kind and welcoming, and the environment feels safe, peaceful, and full of wonder. We also love the Stay & Play program, where caregivers can join in — it’s been a great way to ease into the experience and see the magic firsthand. If you’re looking for a nature-based preschool in the Sacramento area, I highly recommend checking out Play Matters!

We tried out a Stay and Play session which I think is new to her program! It was so fun for both my son and I. It’s only a few hours long. It is a great option to ease both of us into the transition for preschool. Naomi was so welcoming and her calm embrace really shows what her program is all about! Can’t wait for more Stay and Play mornings!

Love love love this space! The community was warm and welcoming. Naomi is a ray of light that created such a wonderful space. I was obsessing over all the details in her space! My two girls (1 +3) were so happy the entire time and never wanted to leave! I’m a WFH mom but will definitely be back when my schedule permits!

Honestly, from the moment I met Naomi at Play Matters Preschool, I knew she was going to be an amazing teacher for my son. Her calm presence and the love she infuses into her teaching are truly special. Naomi has created a learning space that is beyond what I could have imagined—such a unique, nurturing environment. My son absolutely loves coming here, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found such a safe and supportive preschool. 🫶🏻
