Playhouse Child Care Center

I highly recommend Playhouse Sartell! As a new mom, I was very nervous to send my baby off to daycare but the staff here have made all my fears disappear. The teachers are ALL wonderful, my daughter lights up when she sees them and it's easy to see how much they love the kids. I wouldn't send my kiddos anywhere else.

It’s pretty sad when you can’t leave your child with the daycare for more than an hour before they make up a reason you have to come get your kids. They are not qualified to tell my niece that her 1 yr old has mental health problems because she is going through a biting stage. This is normal stated the doctor. Then have her sign documents that are back dated which is not legal. There excuse is there is 20 kids., Yes and if you can’t do your job right then maybe someone else who can handle should do the job. They have cameras but they can’t access them to even show you what is happening. Along with the fact that this is the only place she bites. There are some shady things happening is there anything legal there?

I have a almost 2 year old who has been going through a biting stage for less a month and have been assured by her doctors it’s a normal stage, but Dawn and her staff recommended programs for developmentally delayed children (which I was told by them she does NOT meet criteria for, and she later claimed her staff must not have understood when giving me the number) and a mental health clinic (which she later tried to claim she didn’t realize my daughter would need to become a patient at) even though her doctors and nurses have assured me this is normal behavior for her age and younger siblings! I was given incident reports up to a week after and asked to sign them, and told there were 20 children and sometimes staff does have time! I was told by Dawn when I stated I was unsure why this behavior was continuing only there that she had someone come in and the watch my daughter, and they were also unsure as to why she was biting still. I never signed or approved anyone to come in and evaluate or even watch my child and was only made aware of it after the fact. I asked to see video of my child biting so I could understand what was going on because this is a behavior that’s only continued and gotten worse at this center, I was told first Dawn didn’t have access, then I was told I would first need permission to view them, and then when asked for it to be documented why I can’t she stated it was for privacy reasons. I only found out after that as recently as June 9, 2023 they were charge with maltreatment of a child for being left alone in a bathroom, and when investigators asked to see video they were told that staff was unable to save the video! Would not recommend leaving your children in the care of this center at all! Update 10/25 Dawn told me she had someone come in an watch my child without permission, when she finally gave me the name and contact info for the person I emailed them, only for them to email me back and tell me not only have they never met my child they didn’t even know her name until I emailed. When I called for a number to corporate office I was told her staff someone would call back, and then when I tried again because of no call back I was told there was no one in the office for me to speak to and that they don’t have the corporate number to give to me and hung up on!

All 3 of my girls have gone to Playhouse Sartell and all of them loved it there and as I parent I couldn't ask for a better place to drop my kids off at everyday. The staff is very friendly and help out in any way they can, and keep you informed every step of the way. It costs a decent chunk of change but their service and quality care is worth it.

Sartell location. Teachers are great - and the prices are reasonable. The only thing I would change is to get a report at the end of each day to know how much of each meal was eaten. I have a very picky eater so if she didn't eat much lunch that day because she didn't like what they were having I could make something she likes for dinner to make up for it. Otherwise, my child loves it and has learned quite a bit - 3 years old and comes home to tell me spiders are good because they eat the bugs we don't like.
