Primrose School of Chapel Hill at Briar Chapel

We have two children at Primrose - a little girl who started at age 3 and just completed the private kindergarten program and a son who started in the infant room and is now in the 2 year old class. At this point, we’ve just about experienced every class! The leadership at Primrose truly cares and personalizes your child’s experience. They have gotten to know our family, welcome our kids every day, and check on them when they’re home sick or just having a hard day at school. We see this dynamic carried through the teachers who love on our babies as if they are their own! The curriculum has been phenomenal. As a former kindergarten teacher myself and someone that still works in education I have been so impressed by the structured, balanced nature of it. Pre-K and kinder also use Star assessments which gave us insights into her academic performance compared to a national sample of kids - very informative! While we knew we would be trusting Primrose for early childcare, we didn’t immediately set out to continue in their private kindergarten program, but I’m so glad we did! What we found was academic expertise, small personalized class sizes, and a safe and encouraging social environment. Our daughter absolutely flourished, making new friends and building incredible skills in reading, writing, and math. If you are considering a private program or want a slow build into kinder that maybe combines Primrose with a second year in public school, this can be an incredible option and has been a wonderful choice for our family!

Our oldest started at Primrose when he was 14 months old and continued through kindergarten. Amber Best (director) gets to know every child and family and provided tremendous support as we adapted to having our first child start daycare. The staff made sure we were given frequent updates with pictures throughout the day, never a shortage of details/information. Requests to address any particular concerns about our son’s growth/development were addressed quickly and meaningfully. I feel that the staff was invested not only in our son’s academic development but also in shaping his character, teaching him the value of kindness and manners. He flourished in their pre-K and kindergarten program. When he started 1st grade in 2023 he was leaps and bounds ahead in reading comprehension and math thanks to primrose- all of this done without sacrificing the importance of PLAY as one of the most significant ways that children learn. Our youngest is now a Primrose student where he started at 10 months old in the infant room. I was nervous because he started younger than our first child, but he was so happy with the teachers in the infant room and now he’s learning so much as an early preschooler. I cannot say enough how much of a relief it has been to have Amber and the primrose staff nurturing our boys. knowing that they are safe, loved, and learning while at school allows us to work without worrying about their well-being.

We love primrose! From the warm greetings at drop-off to the detailed updates throughout the day, our experience here has been top-notch. Our child attended the school for four years all the way through kindergarten until he moved into first grade last year. This year he was so excited to return for summer camp. He loves the teachers and staff there so much he begs us not to pick him up early. The staff/teachers are exceptionally caring, attentive, and skilled in fostering a nurturing environment. The facility is clean, safe, and filled with enriching activities tailored to each child's development. We feel immense peace of mind knowing our child is in such capable hands. Highly recommend!

Primrose School of Chapel Hill at Briar Chapel exceeded our expectations in every way possible. From the moment our two daughters stepped through the doors, they were met with exceptional care and nurturing. Not only did they thrive socially and emotionally, but academically as well. The curriculum provided them with a solid foundation, allowing them to enter public school well ahead of their peers. The leadership team's dedication and the teachers' passion truly made a difference in our children's lives. We were there during Covid as well and we so impressed with how they handled the pandemic especially with children. We cannot recommend Primrose School of Chapel Hill enough for its outstanding education and loving environment.

We have had a great experience with Primrose over the last 6 years. We are always pleased with the staff and the love and care both our kids have received. The school wouldn’t be the school it is without Amber Best she truly is amazing and makes the school run efficiently. We highly recommend Primrose at Briar Chapel!
