We feel incredibly lucky to have found a place that feels like such a perfect fit for our son. His school day is outside all the time, every day (except in terrible weather, oc), playing, hiking, exploring, climbing... he's a very active kid, and this place let's him get ALL his wiggles out. Ms. Amber is AWESOME. Her energy and patience is unmatched. She has gotten to know my kiddo on such an individual level in such a short time, I feel confident that she (and ALL the other teachers) are meeting him where he is at. He comes home with new things he learned everyday, they provide healthy snacks, craft time, and plenty of room for him to be himself. We couldn't be more thrilled to have found this wonderful school. ❤️

River Canyon is an incredible school, and if you are lucky enough to get in, I know you will agree. Ms. Amber is both the lead teacher and school director . That means she is working with students all day (not sitting in an office). If you are interested in attending River Canyon, I would suggest sending an email or attending the open house they offer in February. This is a popular preschool with a waitlist, so if you are interested, make sure to get your enrollment in early!

We love River Canyon! The Waldorf curriculum is not only developmentally appropriate, but allows my child to learn in nature. He loves the nature walks and being outside every single day. Young children learn best through play and at River Canyon they are given plenty of playtime. The snacks provided are healthy, nutrient dense foods like vegetable soup and golden porridge (millet). All of the teachers are incredibly caring and kind. The one down side is the price, but you can choose half days or just a few days a week instead of going all 5 days full time. If you do decide to go all 5 days full time it really is well worth the money you will pay because they are focusing on the entire child from conflict resolution with friends, to learning how to paint, to how to count. I feel really grateful for the opportunity to send my child to River Canyon.

We have had wonderful experiences sending two of our children to River Canyon over the past several years. The teachers are kind and caring and deliberate in all the lessons that they prepare, focusing on nurturing the children through play-based learning. We highly recommend this school!

As educators, we have been increasingly concerned about the rigorous academics that have been expected of young children in schools. We were looking for a safe environment for our kids to attend preschool that focused on what kids need at this age: socialization, play, creativity, and an opportunity to just be four years old! That is what we have gotten from this school-and more. The teachers are incredible and have gone above and beyond for my child every day. The curriculum is appropriate for this age and the measure of success is not the ability to add or read or pass a standardized test-but rather, to be a functioning human, which is exactly what kids this young need. We love the school and the teachers and would recommend it highly to anyone who is looking for a fantastic experience in a safe space.
