You won’t find a better in-home daycare on the Greenwich/Stamford line. Gladys and her team run a tight ship at Shiny Rocks Daycare. What I love most is that the kids are engaged every day without technology or TV—none of the toys even have lights! This was important to me as a parent, knowing my little one was interacting with little friends rather than being entertained by screens. They spend time outside every day and participate in a variety of wonderful activities. Gladys and her team are incredibly responsive and have helped my child grow so much! The daycare is clean and the team is so loving and warm like family. I get notifications and pictures of him throughout the day, which makes me feel safe and happy that my little one is so happy. My daughter loves Shiny Rocks to the point where she cries every time I pick her up and she has to leave. This daycare is the best and we really get the impression that the staff truly cares. Dora is one of the nicest people we've ever met. She has been super flexible and accommodating working with us in terms of our busy schedules.

We visited and evaluated several other daycares before finally choosing Shiny Rocks. From the second we left our first meeting, we knew we'd found the place for us. Shiny Rocks immediately felt like a home, rather than a daycare, and Dora felt more like a family member than a paid caretaker of our child. We can't say enough nice things about Shiny Rocks, Dora, and the rest of her staff. The level of care they provided for our son always felt above and beyond what one can expect from a daycare, and our son was always excited to be there. We highly recommend Shiny Rocks to anyone that wants their child to be in a small, home-daycare setting where they will get lots of individualized attention, good food, and fun activities. Both of my sons go to Shiny Rocks and both love their time there. Our older son had been to multiple daycare locations before we found Shiny Rocks, and we will never leave. Dora and Gladys (and their staff) care so greatly for the children and constantly provide enriching experiences for them. They utilize apps and update it with pictures during the day so we can see our littles ones having fun playing and learning. I would encourage anyone to reach out and see if they have space - you will not regret it!

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Shiny Rocks Daycare! We had been looking for a daycare provider for our 16 month old son for months before we found Shiny Rocks, and we’re so happy we were able to find this daycare. From the very first day we felt that we had found the right place. Mrs. Dora’s welcoming and positive demeanor shows that she truly enjoys what she does. The daycare itself has a nice setup with great learning toys and instruments. It’s well maintained/clean and has a nice, big backyard. It is really a blessing that we found Dora! She is just what we were looking for: caring, loving, patient, and attentive. Our son took to her immediately. Our son’s development really skyrocketed after he started going to Shiny Rocks. His self-helps skills are much better (eating by himself with utensils), social skills, etc. He is in a safe and welcoming environment where it feels like a second home to him and he’s provided with opportunities to learn due to their enriching activities. During drop offs in the morning, our boy is excited and ready to go. Shiny Rocks serves healthy, nutritious foods. Dora is amazing and we’re happy our son is in her care. My husband and I feel at ease knowing that our precious child is with someone who genuinely cares. Anyone who chooses Shiny Rocks as their childcare provider will not be disappointed!
