SmartFit Kids

My kid has had a great experience at SmartFitKids for both summer and after-school care! A major benefits of the program design is the many activities kids can participate in throughout the year - Taekwondo, field trips, STEM-based learning, dance, language clubs and more. My kid loves his SmartFit teachers and even loves doing his workbooks/homework.

SmartFit kids is amazing. They truly care about your children. My daughter has attended for the last 2 years for after care and all weeks of summer camp. They have a wonderful schedule and structure to after care that includes homework and Taekwondo which my daughter has learned so much from and loves. The Taekwondo teachers are in their 20's and have been amazing role models for my daughter whom she looks up to. There is minimal staff turnover which is telling about the business. The staff is extremely personable and really care for the children. They plan various events including a Halloween party and Christmas caroling at local assisted living facilities. They also offer after school clubs and piano lessons which is amazing to have on site to allow your children to participate in other activities that may be difficult to participate in due to parents works schedules otherwise. I'm incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful place for my child. We opted out of local SACC because of how special SmartFit is and how much my daughter gets out of it. My daughter even asks me to pick her up the latest possible time because she doesn't want to leave. I can not say enough about SmartFit kids and highly recommend it!!!

We tried Smart Fit Kids STEM camp this summer for our daughter & unfortunately it wasn’t the right fit for her. She felt overwhelmed with the number of kids & is sensitive to loud environments so had daily anxiety. I was the assistant to the Director of a bilingual preschool on the upper east side of NYC & have experience in running summer camp programs that are learning based. When we reached out with our daughters concerns, the Director of the Smart Fit program, Bixia responded to us appropriately & immediately. She showed investment & priority in finding a solution to what would make our child most HAPPY this summer. I really appreciate that. My only constructive criticism would be to make or add a quiet room, area or space for kids who may need some time to calm down, have alone time or be less stimulated. I was more than satisfied with the amount of learning involved, the scheduled field trips & staff - a BIG shout out to Miss Erica (Erika?) who particularly took the time to make my daughter feel special every day!!

Overall an ok camp but definitely not for kids up to age 14 as advertised. My son attended this camp for 3 weeks(2 adventure, 1 STEM) this past summer. It was his first time at SmartFit. He's 10 and was much older than the majority, if not all the other kids. My son came home and spoke about "quiet time" and sitting in a row waiting for a van to be available. I didn't pay all that money for him to sit still and quietly like he was in school and not summer camp. I also think their pamphlet makes it seem like they will be doing much more than they actually do. While they do go on field trips, a lot of field trips were in house. That definitely isn't mentioned on their pamphlet or website. We unfortunately will not be returning.

My son loves going to preschool at Smart Fit Kids (yes, they have preschool starting at age 3)! He used to cry when it was time to go to his old daycare. Now, I ask "Are you ready for Preschool?" and he happily gets ready. The class is small, and the kids get a lot of individual attention from the teachers as well as the director. The teachers take the time to adapt the curriculum to the kids' interests, and they're always looking for new ways to make the material relevant to the kids. We're extremely happy with Smart Fit Kids and would definitely recommend it to anyone!
