The Children in the Shoe

Excellent emotional, social, and developmentally appropriate care. Our two kids LOVED the Shoe from ages 3mo to Kindergarten. The staff is amazingly warm, engaged, and caring— their longevity and low turnover rates are unheard of in the industry. They are always coming up with new enrichment, from infant sensory play with paint to chaperoned walks in the park to an art show and field trip for the Pre-K, as well as child-led and built dramatic play centers that anchor learning curriculum (this year’s theme was space / rocket ship in Pre-K and my daughter can tell you more about the solar system and space than you likely ever learned in school). The babies sleep and eat better at school than at home and receive the warmest caregiver engagement, toddlers get help with potty training in a supportive and effective manner, and the preschoolers are HIGHLY ready for Kindergarten. To top it off, there is constant and open communication with parents, flexibility for specific circumstances, and a warm and supportive community where it’s easy to make friendships with other families. You are very lucky to get your kids to join the Shoe!!

I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about The Children in the Shoe’s management, curriculum, and teachers. My sister worked here as a lead teacher for over a year and I don’t think she’d ever leave if it weren’t for relocating! My niece also attended the daycare at age 2 and loved her teachers, had so much fun, and learned a lot quickly. Definitely recommend The Shoe!
