UPDATE: My children have been attending this preschool for four years now. Sadly, my youngest is moving onto kindergarten this year and we are in our final month in The Children's Museum Preschool. They have completed their move to Mohegan, and the school is so much better. We love Julie, the director, and so many of the teachers. If this school continued into grade level, we would absolutely stay with them instead of attending public. The education that both of my children received here was so above the norm. Both of my children are extremely friendly, confident, and bright. I can't recommend this school enough, especially Miss Ivy (the 2-3 year old classroom teacher), and Miss Julie (the director). They are two of the best teachers I've met in my entire life. If you are looking for a preschool in town, this one is outstanding. ORIGINAL: My son has been going to this preschool for a year and a half, and we just started my daughter early at only 2.5 years old. Every member of the staff is phenomenal. They are so patient and kind with both of my kiddos, even when they are having rough days. And they have a private museum exhibit every single week! I wish I had that in my preschool. My son is having trouble with speech and they take their time to work with him every day. My kids bring home artwork daily and tell me all about the science experiments they did. My son is so interested in reading and writing all because of his amazing teachers. And my daughter is so happy because they sing and dance with the kids all day every day. I can't recommend this preschool enough! My one regret is that I didn't sign up my son sooner like I did for my daughter. I know they're safe and they're being truly cared for, and that means the world to me.

We LOVE The Children's Museum Preschool. Both of my children have done their two years of preschool there and they loved it. My son was very well prepared for kindergarten, and my daughter will be too. The school is very intimate and the teachers are warm and loving to all of the students. The connection with the museum is wonderful for the children. They get weekly to biweekly science experience and get to learn about the animals and go to the planetarium regularly. We cannot say enough wonderful things. My children felt safe, secure, and happy there . They got to socialize with a group of wonderful children from all different backgrounds, AND get a great preschool education. We couldn't have asked for more!!!

We could not be more thrilled with our experience at The Children's Museum Preschool. We found the school to be welcoming from the first. Our son enjoys the weekly visits to the museum and the visits from the museum staff for science experiments and more. The class and school sizes are great. He loves his friends and teachers and, while he is in the 4 and 5-year-old class, he also gets to play with the 3s during aftercare and before the school day starts. We chose the school for the diversity of the student body, the many art, science, literacy, and enrichment opportunities, and we also wanted to find a place that valued play and the outdoors - the kids play outside, often several times a day, and even in the snow (it was hard to find a school in this area that doesn't keep the kids indoors all winter). We've been thrilled with the new Director and with the entire staff. While we don't live in the area, the commute is worth it. I highly recommend this school! The only downside is that they don't have a K program too. We won't want to leave!

My daughter only attended one year but it was the most magical year. I went from thinking I had a kid who might not like school, to having a kid who thrived at school. It gave her a base for all of her education because now we know she CAN love school. What a gift to give a family. Thank you to the special educators. Love, Stella and Erica
