My daughter has attended LCYC for three consecutive years, from ages 2-5, and she has had a wonderful, nurturing experience. It is a play-based preschool that allows children freedom to explore their own interests while having enough structure to develop age-appropriate social skills. LCYC allows parents the option to co-op in their child’s classroom, which affords parents the fun and unique opportunity to interact with their child’s classmates and teachers on a monthly basis. The school provides many fun extracurriculars on a frequent basis, such as art, yoga, nature and cooking. Once my daughter was in the 3s and 4s classes, I was able to enroll her in the extended day program. These additional hours of school (1215-315pm)are so useful to prepare her for full day kindergarten and also allowed me to return to work part time. I have been so impressed with all the pre-reading and pre-math skills my daughter as acquired during this school year, and I am confident that she will be ready for kindergarten thanks to LCYC. LCYC organizes numerous opportunities for families to gather as a community, and we have made many friendships with fellow LCYC families and staff. Overall, LCYC helps young children build a strong foundation for future social and educational success. We will have life-long positive memories of our time here, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone seeking a parent-participation preschool.

I enrolled our two year old son and am so happy with our decision. The teachers and staff are so warm and caring. I have noticed such a huge difference in him from his speech to his maturity. We love LCYC and will definitely keep in enrolled until kindergarten.

Our child attends LCYC and she loves it. The teachers and staff are pleasant and incredibly supportive. Their love for the children shows and I’m grateful to have LCYC for our little one. She has learned so much and loves going to school every weekday.

We joined LCYC mid-pandemic and they've were nothing but amazing. I am especially appreciative, that during such unprecedented times, LCYC kept us at ease, providing a safe, healthy, and happy learning environment. Additionally, our daughter's great experience this school year made us decide to enroll my son as well and both kids stayed there until Kindergarten. LCYC has been a lifesaver. I highly recommend LCYC for your little one(s)!

LCYC is absolutely the best. Our daughter started preschool there this year and we couldn't be happier. The teachers are engaged and caring. The administration is involved and constantly improving. They also prioritize health and safety and low ratios. This is a parent participation/co-op program, which I was a bit unsure about at first but it is actually one of the aspects I enjoy most because it helps create a sense of community. The Leaning Center for Young Children in Kensington is a great place for early learning - so much so that we are sending our youngest there next year.
