My daughter has only been going here a few months. I just want to take the time to say how sweet the staff is. My daughter comes home every day telling me about her friends and her teachers and she learns SO much as well. We’ve had her at other centers. One we left that was awful and one that was great but closed for renovation. I’m glad we wound up having my daughter here before she starts kindergarten next August. So grateful for the girls that run everything in her class!

I moved here to Portage from Griffith 6 years ago. Where my sister ran the daycare my kids went to for 2 years. I was so nervous about changing, but the distance was too much. I feel just as welcomed and at home with this place as I did with my own sisters daycare. And that has meant so much to me. In these several years it hasn’t all been perfect but mostly because of my little Angels behavior. Lol. Even when they have been reprimanded, I’ve never felt attacked, I have felt like we addressed it as a unit, and worked together towards a resolution. I will and have recommended this daycare to anyone looking. Good job ladies, you are appreciated.

This is a great center with amazing people! Miss Chris, the owner, is such a loving & caring person. She has the biggest heart and does so many great things for the children and their families. The staff are just as wonderful. So many of the girls who work here go above and beyond for these children. Many of who end up leaving with a lifelong friendships or bonds with the families. This is a place that feels like a home away from home and somewhere u feel comfortable leaving your child.

I love The Portage Child Care Center. The entire staff is amazing and loving towards the children. As someone who has worked in childcare for 10+ years, I was skeptical on where to enroll my son. They met my standards and beyond. We are so happy with the growth and education our son receives.

My newly 3 year old daughter was kicked out after 3 weeks for "not adjusting well enough". She cried all day the first week and half and only in the mornings the second week and a half. I tried various techniques to help her feel comfortable but it never seemed to help. In the 3 weeks she was there I only received a few daily reports for her behavior, eating habits, diaper changes. I sent her in with a backpack full of diapers and they didn't take them out for days. Instead one day she was sent home in a diaper that was too small on her (2 sizes too small) and another day she came home in a diaper that was too big (1 size bigger). Both days of those incidents she had diapers available. On the very last day, exactly 3 weeks in, an employee said "she much be really hungry when she gets home." So I asked why they say that. That's when I learned that shew as not eating anything at the daycare while there and she was there for breakfast, snack, lunch, and snack 5 days a week. It took 15 days of going there to find that out. Other employees and myself had a feeling it was a personality clash between the employee working during a certain shift. When I spoke to the owner about it she denied that as a possibility and 100% put the blame on my daughter not adjusting well enough. It was a blessing because when she changed to another daycare she thrived and would run inside and didn't want to leave. At PCC she would start screaming and crying streets away, refusing to go inside, and when I would arrive for pick up she would run out like she couldn't get out fast enough.
