While Twin Arbor Sports Club is the only gym within a 30-minute drive offering a steam room, sauna, and hot tub in each locker room, there’s definitely room for improvement. Unfortunately, many of the men here keep their clothes on when using the steam room, sauna, or hot tub—even the same sweaty clothes they worked out in, sometimes including shoes and socks! It’s not only unhygienic but uncomfortable for others using the space.
The hot tub is small, fitting about four or five guys depending on how close they want to sit, but the steam room is where the real odor problem lies, with a smell that can be quite off-putting at times. The vents and corners of the showers are visibly covered in black mold. A deep cleaning could make a huge difference here. If that was addressed, I’d consider bumping my rating up to three stars. Also, the cold plunge is literally a tub like a tub from your house tub that only fits one person at a time and some of these polar bear shaped men lounge in it -again going right into it after a workout perhaps that is the reason why sometimes the hot tub smells like the entire bucket of chlorine powder has been added to it
Another big issue is the group of older men who not only occupy the benches in the locker room but also take up space in the free weight area. They often sit around, chatting loudly and blocking equipment for extended periods, which makes it frustrating for those of us trying to get through a workout. Even when peaceful meditation music is playing in the locker room, their conversations are disruptive. The locker room is small, and these ongoing discussions make the space feel cramped and uncomfortable.
Otherwise, the gym equipment is pretty well-maintained, and the lady at the front desk in the morning is super friendly. I’ve had no other major issues, but some enforcement of the rules and better hygiene standards would make a big difference. If these things are improved, I’d be happy to update my rating.

I’ve been coming to this gym for a while, but I’m really disappointed with the lack of enforcement of basic health and cleanliness standards lately.
First, I’ve noticed people going straight from their workout into the hot tub *wearing the same sweaty gym clothes*. This is not only gross but a clear violation of health codes. It’s a hot tub, not a laundry machine!
Secondly, people are walking into the sauna *in their street shoes*! The whole point of a sauna is relaxation and detoxification, but it’s hard to relax when dirt from the outside is being tracked in.
Lastly, the hot tub and shower areas have become unbearable due to how loudly some people are talking. It’s supposed to be a peaceful space, but the noise makes it hard to enjoy.
I really hope management steps up and addresses these issues. It’s affecting the overall experience for everyone.

Twin Arbors is great. The staff are nice, informative, and always make me feel welcome. I like that the various equipment is in different rooms. Even when busy, there is enough space and equipment to work out. We worked with Kelly the trainer. She is fabulous and knowledgeable. She created a workout routine, taught me the proper way to use the equipment, and keeps me progressing. I am very happy to have found the club.

Less than 2 months after getting our membership, we have made the decision to cancel our family membership at the end of the summer.
It comes down to 1 specific incident.
While working out with my 11yr old son, an employee approached me and told us he can't be in the weight room because he's 11 and it's a liability... At this point I was told he has to be 14. Now, this was not discussed when we signed up... And a major reason for the membership is the fact he plays football and would like to use some machines, and we talked about this with the girl who signed us up! We have a free weight gym at home, but he can do more with machines. Nevermind he's bigger than most 14 yr olds and is literally working out with me and NOT unsupervised.
This gym caters to the senior citizen crowd, and we have seen some old folks who actually are a liability being anywhere around weights. But anyway....
My wife would like to just keep this place through the summer for the pool access.... After that, we're done.
Know what you're signing up for.

It's a nice place, but the equipment is a bit in the older side, it's also the gym with the highest price in the city. Things I loved about it is the spa and the sauna, they're small but pretty. All the other areas a also a bit small, for the price I would think it would be a bigger and nicer place.
